Steph, YOU were on the right track...Fire. The webs are pretty flammable and go up in flames fast and it eradicate the problem. When I've dealt with them we made long torches and ran it near the nest and Poof, they're gone.

Speaking of fire for web worms, I remember many years ago. My dad would take a long stick, wrap a rag around it, and douse it with kerosene. He would then light it on fire and put it against the web and presto. All of these worms would come falling down from the tree dead. I know that’s probably not a good thing to do any longer. But it sure did work.

Wouldn’t it be easier and better for the tree to prune those damaged branches off, spray them with purple pruning paint and then burn the pruned off branches? That would keep the web worms contained in the web and easier to make sure the web worms are destroyed. Oh that Lottie May! Kim even trimmed one of her wings and she still flew the coop! I love videos with Elora in them. She’s such a delight. Did you guys hear where the USDA is demanding that people who have a garden go on their website and register their gardens. My friend thought it was a joke so she accessed the website and says they have a form on there that is about 5 pages long of questions such as the dimensions of your garden, what you grow, how many plants of each variety there is, where the garden is located, etc.. The government really doesn’t want anyone growing their own good, clean, organic food. People I have talked to refuse to comply.

We have bag worms all over our fur trees. 😩 I was taking them off by hand but realized really quickly that it's going to take days if not weeks of removing them from the trees! 🤦From what I can tell I am not the only one having trouble with them. I don't know what to use to get rid of them. 🤷 We also have a huge tick problem. I have tried to put stuff out to get rid of them but no luck so far. We were going to get chickens, goat's and rabbits but two days ago we had a bobcat walking the property. It was about 40-50 feet from our backdoor. This one looks like a juvenile, but usually there's either momma or a male. We will see what happens but we're in a holding pattern right now on getting livestock. We have had a pack of coyotes and now a bobcat. Hopefully we can get livestock soon. I'm just afraid that the animals will be a quick meal. Great video! Much Love from our family to your family 💞

We could hear them chewing, huge trees would be stripped bare! But after they hatched into moths the leaves all grew back!

In Kentucky we call them "tent caterpillars" and they LOVE to kill the tress. People around our area do the same thing that you all are doing to break up of the web. Hope your tree provides you plenty of yummy pears
My granny and mother used to take a tobacco stick and wrap the end it thick w cloth and light it and burn the web down so the fire destroys the worms and then they would cut the limb they were on and it saved their fruit trees! With you all doing it that way you are going to have to try to get each one off the ground and check each limb. Clip 1 wing on the chicken!

In Ohio, we call those tent worms. You could use a sprayer, the soapy water won't hurt your fruit. Neem oil also.
