Sunrise Sanitation 1985 International Cargo-star Heil Formula 5000 Garbage Truck

I had the opportunity to go out and see Sunrise Sanitation’s yard, and also film this classic beauty. This is by far one of my favorite trucks. A 1985 international cargostar heil formula 5000 Collecting trash in a small community. As you’ll hear we got to the route early and some of the residents were still getting there trash out.

What an awesome classic International Cargostar/Heil Formula 5000 still in service! This has to be one very "early" model of Heil 5000 packers! When I was growing-up our local garbage hauler had a brand-new at the time 1985 International S-1900 with the last of the GarWood "900" 20 yard packer bodies. In fact it still had the 1 lever packer cycle control! I later worked on 1985 model/year 25 yard Heil 5000's at Waste Management mostly on CCC chassis with the 2 lever packer cycle controls. That International Cargostar there is awesome!! These I remember as a kid were a "staple" in the trash collection industry being on rear-load trucks as well as alot of commercial front-loaders + MSL packer bodies! It sounds like it's been straight-piped by the exhaust note! Sounds so good. I'm guessing an International DT-466 mechanical injection pump for the motor? I'd love to see more videos on this truck. Boy Sunrise Sanitation has sure kept some old, truly classic garbage trucks in it's fleet thanks to Jared. It seems most of their entire fleet is older classic trucks!

driver is annoying, what the hell are you running for? what's the hurry? and all the one handed dumping is a great way to tear tendons and get permanently injured. Just cuz you're young doesn't mean you should do it. You ain't gonna be doin it long at this pace for a small hauler in a small contract
