Nice driving! The Rufford Ford chancers should watch this video. I don't do it any more, but when I was young and immortal in the 1970s, I'd drive through 2ft deep water in an ordinary car. One trick was to open the doors to let the water flow through. The theory was that it reduced the chances of being washed sideways off the road.
++@@davidhuett3579++ Well the high water alarm in my own 90 cuts in around the time I have to open the roof hatch and stand up so as to see where I am going.
Defenders rot like nothing else and when you dip them often enough in water all electrics will stop in the end. Chassis is allready rotting from the factory. And yes i had a Defender, got the T-Shirt.

This. This is why I want a Land Rover Defender, but I would have the 110, because it'll have 9 seats and I could become a ferry! :D
Yes! Fit a taller snorkle and provide your pasengers with aqualungs and you'll be made!
Put the seats on the roof rack passengers can stay dry

This is so quintessentially British, especially the driver's open window.

Padraig Mc carthy 300tdi
A diesel, probably a 300 tdi
Isn’t the wading depth of those old ones 500mm? New one 900mm. Both great vehicles.
yes but that is without wading kit, raising ecu, breathers and snorkel etc. Once that is done they can do as deep as
@@jackbutler5500 AS DEEP AS WHAT? HOW MUCH. FINISH YOUR SENTENCES MAN.
@@leonardosharp6806 up to the snorkel
At what depth did water start to get into the cabin? And did you open the ventilation?
Hi the ventilation flaps where closed I would say the water come in around when the water was hitting the top of the headlights.

I couldn't help but wonder if that journey was absolutely necessary.
Yes it was as the water got a lot higher than that and we needed to save our Horses as they would have drowned
Sounds like that POMMY car was having a whinge..
