Rumour had it that Nadine Dorries wanted to join the Monster Raving Loony party, but they thought she was too bonkers for them.
MRLP is not an extremist party. It stands for moderate lunacy.
Their Loonys not Nutters
Minus Dorries, Channel 4’s coverage was by far the best. 11 hours is quite a slog for the presenters without a break and Krishnan and Emily were superb, as were the Rest Is Politics guys.
fancy seeing you here Rob lol
@@willsy444hello! 😅
Even with Dorries, as a nutter she is entertaining.
@@MrBecksy2 I’d argue Channel 4 knew exactly what they were doing getting her on. She’s desperate enough for any sort of publicity to not notice that she was being brought on to be chewed up and spat out by people much cleverer than her. Seems like a fair enough punishment for what she tried to do to Channel 4.
Agreed 1000%
Nadine Dorries appears to be genuinely unhinged
It’s a bad sign when fellow Tories Alan Duncan and Rory Stewart openly laugh at her.
At one point in the overnight coverage, they got feedback from an in-studio audience sitting around tables & one woman told Nadine she was a delusional idiot who needed her head checked. 😂
Was that the woman thought she's heading to the lords but disallowed and wanted to unresign but again disallowed?
@@anmiriam it took her over 40 days to resign immediately.
Is this the first time you've noticed it?
Not enough Rory and Alastair highlights sorry! Can we get a supercut of their contributions thanks
You have the attention span of a goldfish. go watch some shorts.
Pair of muppets, especially Florence of Belgravia, who is nothing more than Campbell's b*tch
She always pulls out the sexism response does Nutty Nadine
Kwasi's face when Reform were on 13 😂
I said straight away 5 max, poor from the exit poll tbh especially giving Barnsley north a 99% chance
Thank you Carol Vordermann for highlighting the corruption of the Tories despite the mainstream press largely ignoring it.
She's brilliant. She absolutely nailed it.
Can you let us watch the full night's coverage, please?
It's all there split up on the channel4 website
Channel 4 why is the full live stream no longer uploaded?!? ITV and Sky have put their full coverage up on TH-cam. Cmon!!
are they editing it
you can watch it all on their website
Thoroughly enjoyed the Channel 4 coverage last night. Great work by the entire team.
I never slept - watched the entire overnight coverage because it was the best available. This morning I checked out some of the other coverage by Sky & ITV & such ..... by far Channel 4 had the best teams providing analysis.
C4 : Quasi Kwarteng, It's on you.
Kwarteng: It's on the whole party, and it's on 14 years.
:) That says alots
I do not buy the argument of Reform either. Yes I see the effect, however, why should the Conservatives have the monopoly on the right wing votes? We have Labour, Lib Dems and the Greens contending for the left. It is called competition, they will have to deal with it. You could make the argument that if you put Lib Dems, Greens and Labour votes together, they would win most seats.
Not just them but plaid and SNP are left of centre also. It really says a lot that the first time the Tories face any real competition from the right they collapse
The LDs surge is hardly mentioned. They battered the Tories in the South of England.
You mentioned that the Tories were ousted entirely from Wales but you failed to mention they were also completely ousted from Cornwall where they previously held every constituency.
1:10:49 Emily Maitlis: "But Nadine, you are funny."
She sure is.🤪
Dorris is a looney
Loved Vorderman calling out Mad Nad's MP grifting.
I watched the whole channel 4 coverage. It was epic, the best election coverage of all time.
1:08:19 I just found out that Michael Fabricant and his wig are also gone - this is the election that keeps on giving.🥳
Hannah Fry is always amazing!!
Hats off to Jess Phillips!
@@robinsanders5541 it’s nice to see politicians who care.
Yeah fair play.. I really respect her honesty. A difficult situation handled supremely well.
32:20 Well done Carol!! Well said! 👍👍👍👍👍
You can definitely tell that you're no longer under contract of the BBC! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍
not when labour is back DARLING our beloved math teacher carol is ON FIRE now !😘
@@redlightmaxThanks for picking up on my mistake, I will edit accordingly. 👍🤭
"35:21 Well done Carol!! Well said!"
I agree, but I think you mean 32:20.
The worst aspect of the coverage was the realisation that Nadine (real-name Bargery) was probably getting paid to appear on it.
Carol Vordermann is my spirit animal!
Vorderman speaking it like it is!
32:30 CAROL VORDERMAN WE LOVE YOU
Party on, Auntie Carol! You deserve it 🎉
I was out my seat nearly cheering!
Channel 4 showing more forgiveness than I would hiring Nadine Dorries for their panel.
I hope you showed her the accounts and try to explain what a "not for profit corporation" meant?? 🤭
Why did you give her any airtime??
You must have missed the part (after dawn this morning I think?) where they let the in-studio audience have a go at Nadine, with one woman calling her a delusional idiot who needed her head checked. 😂
I assumed she was there for comic relief, but she's useless at delivering punch-lines.
@@laurarader2940 That might've been Carol Vorderman. 🤣🤭 I saw that! 🤣
Well done channel 4 for the top coverage now go get some sleep.
And thank fook this shambles of a government is gone.
i totally agree with Alistair Campbell on this👍...but nadine dorries just makes me lose the will to live 🙄🤦 i also agree with Carol Vorderman too..she is spot on 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
Carole Vordeman is gorgeous, even more so when she’s angry. Right on Carole.
I really wish I hadn’t been on holiday and had been able to watch C4 coverage. Awesome line up.
Watching this live made me feel like I was trapped between my uncle and my deranged nan at Christmas when someone made the mistake of bringing up Boris Johnson 😂
It was genius bringing on Nadine. She made it spicy.
nadine and kwasi oohh and ahhing, as if they are listening to bingo numbers being called. The fact that they dont have the ability to realize that they are in part responsible for this mess, shows how deeply detached from reality they are.
Revealing the exit poll at 4:25 was a complete balls up.
to be fair, only the BBC, ITV & Sky had the exit poll before 22:00, the other broadcasters had to wait for the numbers to be shown to the public
@@boldiegoldie Fair enough. I always thought everyone had it at the same time.
@@eamonnevans8005 Ipsos is contracted to produce the exit poll for those three broadcasters only; maybe in future they'll distribute more widely.
It's not beyond the wit of man to be able to copy the figures from the other broadcasters and have them up on the screen swiftly.
The other broadcasters put the constituency counts up in real-time as they're being read out by the Returning Officer, I'm sure Channel 4 could have done something similar for the exit poll.
She rocking the Cuban 🤣🤣😤😤
You put me on a shortlist for being in the audience but I wasn't chosen. Oh well! A great result anyway
Nadine Dorries she is not the full ticket ....she should change her name to Nadine Boris
Carol vorderman we love you spot on as always
Other channels had the seat breakdown immediately.
it was all over by 10 oclock lol
32 minutes in.....Bravo Carol Vorderman!
“L” 🤣
‘It’s a bad result’ - that’s like saying I’ve only had two legs amputated.
What good speech from Carol Vorderman.
Excellent lineup
Wheres Carol Vordernmans monologue???????????
It's there. Starts at 32:22 or thereabouts
Dorries is not right in the head, bitter and twisted
Yet pretty in Pink.
I thought the gogglebox gang where meant to be on this hence the title last night
a typical politician, "If You Elect Me, I Promise to Blah Blah Blah Blah and BLAH".
the voters, "Bugger OFF"!
Dr Fry rocks! love from Downunder.😅
Was Nadine Dorres on something?
32:20 ... They could edit this down to Carol Vardaman's 5 min critique of the last 14 years of total sh*tness ...
Carol was epic!
37.08 - I thought RR was going to crack up then.
Dorries and Widdecombe were the reasons I avoided this.
“It’ll be fascinating how Keir Starmer holds on”…. About delivery I would suppose…
He'll last about 3 years. He won't take Labour to an election in 28/29.
Nadine is always such good entertainment.
The Lib Dems vote share is relatively unchanged from 2019. Yet their number of MPs has increased 900%! That's some magic trick.
I wonder if they will continue their campaign for electoral reform? 🤔😅
Mad isn't it! We might even have Tories squawking in favour of PR!
@@royw-g3120 most likely
Carol nailed it!
Oh, our Nadine! She's a right barracuda!
Great stuff from Carol Vorderman.
Booze order for Vorders on set please. Come on, she's Channel 4 royalty.
Jess Phillips is my hero
What a total ballsup with the exit poll. Complete amateur hour. And, as usual, they barely mentioned the LibDem's 71 seats. Even worse than the BBC.
Gullies - was there a sweeter moment tonight?
Lol those Exit polls got that wrong Reform 13 seats they won 4, same amount of seats as the Greens.
Tbf the Exit polls stated it was extremely hard to predict Reforms true seat potential as they have no prior ‘safe’ seats. Reforms support is scattered across the whole of England and Wales unlike for example the Lib Dem’s who have strongholds in the South of England.
Amateur hour having to wait 30 seconds and then get the numbers down on a pad. Everyone would have just switched channels!
Carole is an OG.
Oh dear 3:28 some sort of big screwup where they couldnt bring up the exit poll numbers for over a minute!
Emily works for Channel 4 now?
I’m a voter in the Holborn & St Pancras constituency but I voted for Tarquin Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim-bus-stop-F'tang-F'tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel. He didn’t win.
Blue Tories out, Red Tories in!
What was the point of having Dorries there?
The loss of 500k votes is not a swing.
Good to see Emily Maitlis sitting on the left hand side (which is the dominant side m) of the screen. Usually men sit on the left.
Completely de-register as a voter.
Here for Dr Fry
Radical generational change the use of words
If we become a more multi party country after this , that can only be a good thing. I think it has been heathy that NI, Scotland and Wales had more choice.
Nad is totally mad.
Was Nadine Dorries pissed?
Nd is totally mad
Sir kears arrives at number 10 with a title, not many ex pm's can claim that accolade.
Who is "kears"?
@@daviddowsett1658..not very bright are you?
@@Essemm52 To be fair, the man's name is Keir, after the founder of the Labour party Keir Hardie. And loads of people/trolls/bots have been making "fun" of his name, calling him keith etc. so it's quite hard to make out what OP is saying here.
The point about Keir Starmer being knighted before becoming PM(wrote MP first, but that's true as well) on the basis of his service before entering politics is a strong one. Most former PM's called sir/dame got those gongs because they were PM, like the speaker normally going to the House of Lords.
Keir actually did something with his life before politics.
@@LeafHuntress I think @daviddowsett1685 knows exactly who ‘kears’ refers to, and was being deliberately obtuse!
Congratulations to your Labour party. The pendulum has swung in a huge way. As an American I wish all of the people in the UK a very happy prosperous time ahead. God bless ❤❤🇬🇧🇺🇲🇬🇧🇺🇸you all
first past the post is unfair, because many People arent heard
19:18 what am I listening to
I preferred the understated reaction of the BBC
1:15:51
truss appointed 32 not sure where dorries pulled 4 from
Nadine Dorries cluelessly defending the indefensible
The Tories suffered a heavy defeat got a massive stitch after losing 250 seats in the General Election on July 4, 2024.
10:54
Oh, and Channel 4s very conspicuous avoidance of the Greens is very telling. Didn't feature on the graphics or evit poll stuff. SHAMEFUL. Good on that Baroness or Lady or whatever for pointing it out at like 7am lol
I watched every minute of your overnight election livestream because it was too exciting to sleep. As always, Channel 4 provides balanced & fair coverage, appropriate scrutiny, & viewpoints from all ideologies.
The rise of the far-right populists in the U.K., USA, & Europe is a terrifying prospect whose danger only grows because of social media misinformation & disinformation. Please continue pushing back against false narratives. Because I'm in the USA, it's hard for me to fully comprehend the apprehension about mandates, majorities, & proportional representation replacing "first past the post" since we are still a 2 party political system for now... but even with 4 or 5 MPs in Parliament, Nigel Farage will be a constant thorn in the side of the government... just as he was a constant thorn in the side of the EU Parliament until he finally caused the Brexit referendum to come to fruition. Social media misinformation financed by bad actors was the main reason the British voted to commit financial suicide for the entire country by intentionally leaving a global market trading block. Same reason Trump was President here, and many of the same bad actors & foreign oligarchs were behind both, too.
Couldn't agree more, well said. I am an American but have been following the European and UK elections. This UK GE has been thrilling. I really hope Keir and his cabinet can make change, but actions speak louder than words.
Balanced 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😊
@silondon9010 Way more balanced than the vast majority of British newspapers or the way the BBC has behaved like state media the last several years. The basic reason for freedom of the press is to search for the truth by scrutinizing the government & holding them to account for the people they serve by speaking truth to power. Democracy only functions properly when the powerful are not allowed to gaslight people with lies & huge billboards on the sides of buses showing lines of Muslim immigrants or telling falsehoods about increased NHS funding by voting to leave the EU. So who do you think is "balanced"? GB News or Novaria Media (or whatever it's called) that still backs Jeremy Corbyn? 😂🤣😂
Only 1 in 5 registered voters voted Labour.
Labour got fewer votes than in 17 or 19.
Labour only got 33% of the votes but 64% of the seats.
BBC ditched Mantis... into the trash that is Channel 4.
Wanker
Not a fan of Emily's laptop tonight...!
😅😅😅
The only thing more beautiful than the result last night was Emily Maitlis! Wow! ❤
