Southern California Variation:
The third 8 count is often slightly different in the clubs in SoCal.
Replace this: R cross rock, 1/4 turn R stepping R fwd; L mambo w/ 1/2 turn L on last step; R fwd mambo; Bump hips fwd back fwd (weight to L)
With this: R cross rock, R together, L cross rock, L together, R cross rock, Step R to side (body is still facing L diagonal); Bump hips fwd(L) back(R) fwd(L) (weight to L)
And then for the heel switches: At the start of them, just turn your body slightly left so it's facing the same direction as the heel switches in the video. And then you still do a 1/4 turn right with the heel grind.
