Edit: Implementing
Hey coach I really need help I’m stuck in a part of my career where I don’t know what to focus on for motivating me there’s an incredible basketball player at my school we’re both 14 but I don’t know if it’s just me focusing on his skills rather then mine but he has that “it” factor he’s already dunking and is just a great basketball player I want to get better then him not just 1on1 I want to be better in all aspects of basketball but I don’t whether to have my motivation be him being better then me? Or to have my motivation being improvement? I know that you said aiming for improvement was the best but when I do that I find my self not as motivated when I’m aiming for a goal I feel amazingly motivated could you please give me your opinion
For one thing, I would understand that you and him are not the same players, and that you both have different skillsets and abilities to work on, and things you're already good at. If you look at it in a "I want to be better than you" mindset, you're going to be putting a lot of attention on things that are not entirely in your control, and may even start to overtrain. Do what you know you can, work on what you need to work on, and know that you bring something big to the team as well, whether you're the "best" or not =)

I get disappointed when things don’t go my way and when little things that I can’t control happen, like I just got my good ball stolen, I’m left with the old that has no grip. When things don’t go my way, When those things happen my mind like shuts off and I don’t even know why is worthy to push myself and control what I can. I start playing video games and watching Netflix till the next day when I feel like I got a new chance to start over again, I get back up, but then days later it happens again. Do you think that eliminating distractions like video games social media and Netflix while living with the mentality to not worry about what I can’t control and do what I can for a week will help? Obviously I will keep that mentality for ever, but eliminating the distractions and pushing myself for 7 days will help me?
yes getting rid of distraction will help you focus.I recommend using the bad things that happen to you for motivation
@@Track1aych makes sense appreciated bro🙏🏽
Bro same I even got my good ball stolen too 😔
What are we supposed to do with this paper after we are done?
You can keep it for future reference, or get rid of it and move on. It's something that you will likely repeat a number of times in the future, so either way it doesn't really matter.

I practice right before the game and do great. But when the game starts, I can't do anything. It's so frustrating for me and it has been happening for me the whole season. I am at the playoffs now and there are some games where I haven't even scored but I am my starting point guard. How do i fix this?
What do you mean when you say you do great in practice? Do you shoot well, finish well, dribble well? Do these skills transfer in to the way you play with your team (as a team)?
If you're still providing for your team in other ways, don't overlook that for the amount of points you score.
