It’s easy to tell the difference between the two if you compare a $10k cartier to $100 but there’s a big market in Asia where you can buy almost identical cartier for $2k, it’s also 18k yellow gold. And some has real diamond too.

Such a great video! I do confess too that I have used fake luxury items in the past, but once I started purchasing the real ones and comparing those to the fake ones, I got embarrassed and got rid of all of my fake ones. You can definitely "feel" that the real one is real and the fake is fake, and you know if you have a fake or a real one.

Ultimately what you are paying for is your own personal satisfaction. Obviously you can't compare the materials or craftsmanship between the two, but if you are happy with a dupe then there is no reason to pay the extra $10k+ price for the authentic one. Most people won't know the difference, but the person who does is you. If having the real version and knowing that it is authentic is worth the price tag, then by all means, get the real one. Knowing that it is authentic can bring a lot of confidence and pride to the owner, but if someone else feels differently, there's no reason to push your own opinion on them (that goes either way).

I absolutely love the idea of owning my very own love bracelet. However, the price is over the top. I am considering buying a quality dupe, meaning made of real gold, 18k, so more expensive. Around 600 to 800 dollars. What are your thoughts?

It's been one year and i still will answer. It's not about fake or real, it's about what you are getting out of it. If you are for the brand, as you say for the history, for this feeling "i'm wearing thousands of $ on me", then sure go for real. But if you just like the design of the thing, how it looks, but feeling ridiculous spending so much for the brand, cause you know, you can order this bracelet from a real jeweler, with real diamonds and gold and Cartier will be lucky if it costs half.. might be 1/3 of the price. And u get the look you want, you get the quality of real materials and what is the difference?:) Than sure go for as fake as you want. And u still can enjoy it as much, or even more, than the owner of real one. Resseling jewelry... yeah... It seems like some people don’t understand that you can’t get a real 18k gold replica of the bracelet for $1000. Real solid gold cost. Maybe not as much as Cartier because partly of the name, but it cost. A non real gold replica with last for a hot minute and when someone sees the gold color coming off, they will know it’s fake.
