    Thank you for making this video; It helped me with the frustration my yarn was giving me. Thank you again, and happy crocheting! 🧶

    Unfortunately, those yarns seem stopped manufacturing. Can't find them anymore. Thank you so much for the video!💞

    I can see the initial problem here, tightening the tension instead of loosening it to get the pattern to shift on one. I wonder would it be better to alter the number of turning chain rather than the tension too as is the tension going to keep having to get tighter? It is good to see some of the thought processes that need to go into achieving the pattern and it is a satisfying effect.

    I've just ordered the yarn !! But I would like to know how it works if you want to make a larger piece. Is there any tutorial ?

  • @dhduncan
    @dhduncan ปีที่แล้ว

    Love your samples! Are those made just from going one row of the color sequence to set the pattern? The size would be great as hot pads if the yarn is good for it. About what is the measurement?

    Great video but what to do if you want to do smaller or wider work ?

    • @StylecraftYarns
      @StylecraftYarns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Apply the same technique working through a full colour repeat. I worked through one colour repeat but you can work through 2 or 3 etc. I don't think you can work though any less than 1 repeat. I hope this helps :)

    A very admirable video but the edges are uneven up left and right sides, would blocking fix that? Does the constant faffing with the tension not compromise the yarn strength. And the how do you make a garment ? Maybe a blanket. I’m new to this so I’m not meaning to sound negative.

    Looks great but not my idea of fun.... I bought the colour ‘stormy nights’ and it drove me nutty and after two months of trying I’m about to give up.... could you do a tutorial on the ‘stormy nights’ colour because I couldn’t figure out the colours. Unfortunately the ball band has instructions for a very different colour yarn, which is puzzling enough ..... thank you

    Hello. What size hook did you use in the tutorial. The paper band round the wool suggests 5.5 and 4.

    • @StylecraftYarns
      @StylecraftYarns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a 5.5 but you can go up and down hook sizes or just change your tension slightly to get the pattern to work.

    • @iTube22100

    Wondering if a small hook size might mean less ripping back.

    • @StylecraftYarns
      @StylecraftYarns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try anything to make it work for you. I used the suggested hook size for the video but as I say in the vid- you can go up or down a hook size throughout your pattern instead of trying to change your tension.

      I’m a competent at crochet but cannot work this out at all. I’ve tried and tried but just can’t fathom it. The pattern isn’t very clear to me. If I do 2 colour repeats as suggested it’s way too wide. Must be reading it wrongly. I’ve tried 4 different hook sizes. Should the purple section be longer than the other 3 colours? I don’t give up easily but this has me beat 😢

    • @StylecraftYarns
      @StylecraftYarns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the purple is a wider colour. Can I suggest working a sample from the video before trying the pattern? This will hep you to understand how it works and then you can apply it to the pattern :) If you would like any further help, please contact me on creative@stylecraftltd.co.uk :)

    I got very confused. I was trying to associate the colours of my colour pool yarn (typhoon) with the one in the video which starts with light blue but then the chain started with turquoise... no wonder I couldn't work out if it was looking right.

    • @StylecraftYarns
      @StylecraftYarns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't have to start with any particular colour. As long as the colours are changing when they should, then you can use the video to help you with any colourway :)

    • @heleddflower8082
      @heleddflower8082 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StylecraftYarns I understand that but matching up colours to the video is the easiest way to do that. I matched mine as she went through the colour sequence at the beginning but she then staggered with a colour that was not at the beginning of the sequence.

    • @StylecraftYarns
      @StylecraftYarns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I went through a full colour repeat, took the last stitch away and then turned. You can associate this to any of the colourways. Try writing out your colour sequence above my colour sequence then, when I refer to a colour, you know which of your own shade you are working with :) If you need any further help, you can email me at creative@stylecraftltd.co.uk

      Some colors are very time consuming but worth the result. I haven't used yarns made special for it yet, so it's been trial and error - makes it more challenging.

    • @patch5357

      English Double crochet (equivalent to American single crochet.... not American Double crochet).

    • @karakalenak1676
      @karakalenak1676 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Patricia Chisholm not knowing she’s English she probably should specify that. Because I was thinking the same thing

  • @sarahhopkins7784
    @sarahhopkins7784 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    No, actually, silly me, she is correct, it does need to be tighter to let the colour go further but did it commence in the right place to begin with when using so many turning chain as that might contribute as may the hook size. It does seem somewhat complex if you're frequently adjusting the tension to keep a stitch colour complete though it may not matter about the stitch being just one colour always, she says. Maybe you're going to look more intently at it in the first few rows or if you're more perfectionist - or if it is your aim is to demonstrate the effect to others for the benefit of sharing with them how it is done.

      That's the way all Colour Pool yarn works...it has to be manipulated to form the pattern, that's why it's so blooming addictive (eventually, after the initial getting your head around it haha)
