Just got a 2017 3 weeks ago. My transmissions is butter smooth don't have to plan shifts to speed when slowing down like my yamaha does. No matter what my bike shifts perfect every time. Up down neutral I'm impressed with how great mine shifts. Just a smoooooth CLICK, Not sure what wrong with yours lol
Have a 2023, model …the gearbox gets very clunky when hot. It also has left me at an intersection hunting for a gear as it gets stuck in Neutral after downshifting coming to a rest . The wind noise is incredibly loud at 100kmph plus …the adjustable windscreen seems made for elves . But it is a good bike I have done several eight hour riding days on .
I can practically Uturn mine on a dime at very slow speed. I don't find the 'top heavy' issue to be a problem for me. I fill my tank and ride with no issues, except, just like others have mentioned about this bike, sometimes shifting is clunky especially when the bike is hot and you want to jump from one to two and get stuck in neutral. Once you know this, a double shift is no problem since in first you are already over the speed limit, Ninja style.
Thanks. So there are pros and cons between 17in and 19in front wheels and do they reverse if you go off road from road to ? . My strom is poor on cornering and not stable on tight slow road turns.
Yeah most definately. I prefer the 19inch front wheel. But i prefer to have a bike that is a bit better on gravel. A 19 being larger makes it easier to roll over stuff. But 17's are fun on the tarmac and going around corners. The africa twin uses 21 inch front and i don't particular like how it handles on the road, but brilliant offroad.
Seems like a very practical bike with lots of luggage, 5.5 gal tank and wind protection.Down side is its nearly 500lbs with no centerstand and of course no shaft so keeping the chain happy would be a pain. Might want to check/lube clutch cable...cheers.

I own one. It's the Honda Accord of motorcycles. It's not spectacular at anything, but very good at everything.

Would you recomment it as first bike?
Nice bike! How many miles has it run?

I was surprised it does not come with a center stand. Should be standard for this.
