I still remember, when me any my friend was playing Risk of Rain 1 all day long ... stopped talking to each other and after several years when browsing my steam library I saw RoR1.
So I installed it, played it for a bit and said to myself "If only there would be another game..."
Only month later to wake up, have almost 20 messages from that friend I've not talked to for years "Risk of Rain 2 came out"
~400 hours on it right now ... this game is just a masterpiece

at what point does shaped glass become absurd, i found using both 2-5 stacks of glass and a tonic leads to actual insanity, just absurd, my poor rx570 cant handle the numbers man
@@heroak4744 it becomes absurd the moment you have enough that your health pool is so small that 1-shot protection keeps you alive while ANY source of healing refills your health and reactivates 1-shot protection

@@catfan__ Final boss of the game, he switches to a second phase where he yoinks every item you have and uses them against you, so broken builds are instant death unless you cheese it by putting down engineer turrets before he yoinks your stuff so your turrets are still buffed. But when I first met Mithrix, he stole my three ceremonials, killing me nearly instantly once they triggered, since I also had at least one behemoth. Or rather, he now had at least one.
Basically, Mithrix was invented to be the boss that says "oh you had crazy luck getting here? You misunderstand. *I* had crazy luck. *You* were just the courier." as he abuses you for your actions. I once, after unlocking it, tried to use the Artifact of Command to pick up like only syringes so Mithrix wouldn't be THAT powerful. I was very wrong. My man turned into the Flash and killed me instantly.
Moral of the story: fuck Mithrix, but holy hell is that a genius design for a boss in a game that lets you become basically the boss.
If youre not loader you can just chill far away and chip damage to get all the items back
I was at Mithrix 3 times now
Somehow I killed him on my first try (though on easy, can't survive 30 minutes on other diffs)
The second and third try I died, one of them because I had no attack speed anymore as captain and couldn't get my items back fast enough....
@@jakeking974 I dunno man. My first Mithrix kill I had 20 tri-tip daggers, and I threw one rain of arrows on him and he dropped them all back before it was even over, so instead of being oneshot by my broken bleed build he just died like a chump

You haven't experienced the game till you do a 345 minute run with 3 other people. Each one of whom has 3 N'kuhana's Opinion and a few healing mushrooms. That's when you truly .. sit. Still.
I had one... mythical.. run.. with 3 rejuv. Racks, 2 opinions, and 22 fungi. It was an experience I have yet to feel again
I can't wait for Hopoo to fix the game engine to be able to handle longer runs
@@crunchycrabs2521 I was doing a medium difficulty run(too tired to remember name) and I ended up with 10 opinions 23 rejuv racks And 78 fungi. The run only ended because I actually had a Windows update and sleep to catch up on.😋 Edit I should mention it was on engineer

Once I played that long that only scavengers spawned since the 'god' of the game. (the one that spawns all the mobs in. If u don't know what I mean search it up its a pretty cool fact about how the game works) couldn't find someone that was strong enough for me. Then - even scavengers stopped spawning.
Definitely craziest run I've ever had.

Recently bought the game on the PS Store on discount. A Mercenary run with several Backup Magazines means I can air hop my way through flying enemies while my other skills cool off, then repeat with anime protagonist attacks.
Risk of Rain is actually so amazing thank you for showing me the light that is this game :)
