the original player of this song, carl fortina came to my house when i was a little kid because he is my dads friend. he came in and played the piano... upside down. then when my sister offered him some money for his good performance, he said "kid i don't want your money" and she replied "don't worry, it's my dads" lol
Here are the chords to part 1, 3 and 4: Dm x 2 , Gm x 4 , Dm x 4 , A7 x 1 , Dm x 1 , Gm x 2 , Dm x 2 , A7 x 2 , Dm x 1 , Bflat x 1 , Gm x 1 , A7 x 1 , Dm
Oh God, Hunty 11, you have dissected and analyzed the chords, so beautifully, you have put the chords exactly as I would have wanted, thank you very very much
Chords for part 2, as I hear them: Gm x 2 , Dm x 2 , Gm x 2 , D x 2 , Gm x 2 , Dm x 2, E x 2 , A7 x 2 Then the melody comes back but is played starting on G instead of D as in the first part, thus the chords changes to: Gm x 2 , Cm x 4 , Gm x 4 , D7 x 1, Gm x 1 , Cm x 2 , Gm x 2 , D7 x 2 , Gm x 1 , Eflat x 1 , Cm x 1 , D7 x 1 , Gm
That was fantastic! If I could play it like that, I too would dance around while I played it. I initially wanted to see this to help me arrange it for classical guitar (I don't like existing arrangements), but you made me dig out my concertina!
you found the right place to learn! I think the main thing about accordion is just learning where the chords are, mashing your left hand with your right hand, then lots of practice. and what you can use for practicing is all found on this one channel!
@@moshezuchter Hello Moshe. Thanks to your tutorial I learnt the first part pretty quick. I'm now looking for the next part, but can't find it. Did you make one? Thanks/Lars
Thanks for teaching this. I enjoy your dancing. This is a wonderful way to teach a waltz - by moving. Do wish I could see your features. They are important when you are performing - your expression and enthusiasm. So many performers of accordion allow their heads to be cut off! Disconcerting for some, though not for others.
Thank you Lola. Agree with you 100% about dancing with your instrument. I used to not show my face years ago, but started to show it recently. Check out the newer videos 😊

When melody on right hand manual with bass notes and chords on left hand manual simultaneously played sounds like woodwind quintet.
