      Dressed up 0456, definitely ZT'ish. But I guess he has done a lot of collaborations over the years with ZT so it's no wonder we all make that connection

      Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez yeah, I’m all for expensive knives and own some that are way more expensive than this drunken but there is no way this is anywhere near worth $400. Spyderco really has lost their minds I think cause their pricing is terrible. I really like the spyderco delica but jeeze that knife isn’t worth near $100. Any other brand would sell a delica for $30-40

    I wonder what the run time of the various machining steps are on the drunken vs the average spyderco model of the same general size from the Taiwan factory. I think the numbers would make the price make a whole lot more sense to someone just looking at the specs & pics.

    Nice analysis as always. I am able to Spydie flick the knife quite easily and the ergos are pretty excellent in my L-XL hand (size 8 sterile gloves). Otherwise I agree. Also, would have preferred the standard clip. People should be thankful the Paysan got the Spyderco clip and not the Rassenti clip.

  • @cavedog1279
    @cavedog1279 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Now this is just an opinion, but if the blade is your favorite part of the knife then the manufacturer did something right. Knives are, at the end of the day, typically intended to be used as tools and since the blade is the only part of the knife used as a tool, then it should be the best part of the knife if it was designed and produced properly. I get that some knives have very good action or ergonomics but if the blade isn't great what have they really accomplished? Great offering by spyderco, and great review as always Nick. I'm looking forward to the spydiechef 2, whenever that comes out.

    • @toejamr1
      @toejamr1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. If you don’t like using the tool because of poor ergonomics, they failed because you’re not going to even use the tool.

    What is the reason for the blade shape near the point? I've seen a lot of knives with similar points lately. There is a point on the end but it seems like it's designed to make it not a good knife for stabbing. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a point on the end?

    nice review! for a knife that looks like a lot of others, it's just way too much much $'s, even for a well healed collector and the name is, for me, rather uninspired....

    The opening put me off pursuing this.

    I bailed out at the price.

    Looks like ZT and Spyderco hooked up and 9 months later we get the Drunken. Looks a lot like the ZT 0770cf but for 2.5 times the price. I like it but for the price I think I can get more.

    Take away the Spydie hole and it becomes a ZT.

      Because you relate Sinkevich to ZT. ZT works with the same knife maker, Sinkevich, a lot. Now Spyderco is doing some work with him.

      Brad Leonard ...also because this thing basically looks just like a ZT0456 without a flipper.

      I don't blame Sinkovitch. Spyderco approved the design. Can't hurt having this out. The more the merrier when it comes to custom stuff at mass production prices. Not YOU Smith & Wesson - stay back!😂

    I was so excited for this knife because I love the designer! I finally got it in my hands and this is the most anti-lefty knife EVER! Was very disappointed!

    Sorry, but you're confusing the Russian boys with the Minsk guy. No bear here.
