I said "heat sink" but really it's not - it's just a RF screen Update: While the TV seemed more reliable for several months, it recently started playing up again. A fee reboots again, but also strange UI hangs: it would freeze in the middle of a UI transition in a most peculiar way. 20s later it would come back. Or perhaps not. I got a new mainboard off eBay (1-889-202-2) for £15, and for the last few days it's behaved perfectly. Procedure: unscrew mainboard and tuner board. Unplug tuner board from main board. Most of the connectors can be removed easily, but the video ribbon cable is tricky. Just pulling managed to damage the corner lugs of the cable so when putting into the replacement board it's hard to line up. The first time I failed and got no picture. Second time I managed to get it back in exactly in the centre, and it's been perfect since.
Hi Nick, I have the exact same TV and for whatever reason I can't get the back panel off. Is there any trick in doing so? Unscrewed everything but it appears to be attached still somehow. Thanks.
I don't remember having a particular trouble - as long as you have removed all the screws I think you just need to use a little force to unhook the plastic. Sorry I can't remember any specifics, just try pressing the sides slightly to prise them loose
@@nicksmith4507 Thanks for the help. You were right it needed a little force. Sadly it looks like the LCD panel on my TV is dying. Still, appreciate the help.
@@nicksmith4507I could try and replace the main board but I don't think that's the issue. From what research I've done it seems to be an issue with the gate drivers on the side of the display panel (permanent black horizontal lines across screen). I'd probably need to access these ribbons but I'm not sure how right now. Probably worth a try still as I don't have any other options.
Hi Nick, I have that same tv but of recent it automatically exits Netflix or TH-cam while I'm watching it. Internet connection seems good but I don't know why. I have reseted the tv several times but no solution. Please can you be of help ?
I can only suggest trying to resolder some connections on power board like I did, or replace the power board. But there could be different faults on the main board so no guarantees.

Thank you for sharing sir new supporters here
Hi Nick. All inputs HDMI inputs have blown and no longer work on that model...Any advice for me please?
I don't know but would suspect something serious on the board that would probably need the entire board replaced 😢
Thanks Nick @@nicksmith4507

@@Macho_Fantastico Oh shame about that. Anything you can replace or is too costly to make it worthwhile?
