    I don't understand why this channel is not growing faster 🤔.
    Good content, interesting people and a unique vehicle.
    Always a thumbs up 👍

      Thanks so much! We don't understand the algorithm either ^^ maybe we just need to do more shameless self promotion😂
      But then we're also very happy to have so many loyal long term followers. It's really nice "seeing" all these familiar people in the comments again.

    We've been doing indoor climbing for years, but outdoor climbing freaks me out! Such a hard climb you did, but what a reward at the top. Great video guys!

      Haha, climbing outdoors still givers us some chills, too😂 even after climbing for over 20 years in Moritz case.

    Wish I could still climb. However, I enjoyed it through y'all. We wish you safe travels into Mexico and as always much love! 🙏❤

      We can of course only speculate why you can't get on the walls anymore... so just throwing out the idea that you'd probably surprise yourself if you were to try to climb again.
      Maybe you can hook up with someone on an easy climb or try few rounds in a gym.😉

    Nice job on the trad climbing. I assume he was taking up two ropes to reduce drag.

    • @RoadtoPitches
      @RoadtoPitches  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We like multi pitching with two half ropes for a couple of reasons: you can reduce drag as you mentioned but for this route it was OK. It adds a bit of redundancy in case the rope runs over a sharp edge. For the approach each of us carries less because each rope is about half the weight of a single rope (we can split the load) and finally on the rappel we could do the full 60m rap and not have to stop half way.
      In our Sedona episode it also came in handy leading up a party of 3.

    Holy Cow on footage of the last pitch!!! We usually have like 3 pieces in before the first one you put in!!! Ball nuts and stuff. Anyway, congrats on completing the route without getting poked to death by all the angry vegetation. Holler at your local Mountain Project admin (me) next time if you want a tour guide to a harder-to-find classic in the Organs. Not that Black Velvet isn't awesome. It is.

      @RoadtoPitches  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, yeah I was afraid if I plug a piece earlier that it would be in the way of my hands. But next time i know i can easily put in at least two more pieces.
      We really liked the Organ mountains, if we come back we'll make sure to reach out to you! I think it would be super fun to hang out and see what else is there!

      @@RoadtoPitches you missed a bolt on the third pitch ;)

    • @RoadtoPitches
      @RoadtoPitches  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh we saw some bolts for a direct approach to the roof, but I assume that's not the one you're referring to? Where was it?

    I really enjoy watching your blogs, may I ask the top of camera and gimbal that you use when recording?

    • @RoadtoPitches

      Our two main cameras are a Sony a6100 (just with the kit lens so far) and a GoPro Hero 8.
      We sometimes use our phones (Google Pixel 5a and Samsung Galaxy 5), too, especially on climbs where we don't carry the big Sony along. We also have a cheaper action cam from Akaso, but rarely use it because the picture quality is rather bad.
      For drone shots we use the DJI Mavic Air 2.

    I sure am glad you two do the climbing so we can enjoy the wonderful views when you reach your goal. I was wondering tho, why they dismounted a tire on a rotation?? Was there something poked in the tire that they found and had to patch or were they just trying to make a lil more Jiffy cash for their business?? I was just wondering because the larger the tire the larger the bill on this kind of stuff, my car tires get rotated for free with an oil change.

    • @RoadtoPitches
      @RoadtoPitches  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We're so happy you enjoyed the views!
      In case you didn't follow us all along, we had some tire trouble earlier into our travels. One of our rear tires delaminated and so we chose to buy two new rear tires for the truck. The second good tire became our spare.
      So we have two basically new tires on the rear axle and two old tires in front. The front tires had some unequal wear on the inside of the tire (we probably need a wheel alignment eventually). If you just rotate the front tires you would still have the inside of the tires on the inside. So in order to get the inside out you'll actually have to take off the rubber and rotate it on the rim. Jiffy charged us for a tire mount/balance which was like $40, so totally acceptable in our view.

      @@RoadtoPitches No I haven't seen all of your earlier videos yet but everything makes sense to me now! Tire shops will be fewer as you get farther into Mexico so it was a good time to get that all fixed up now to feel secure on the road😀🙃😀 Wishing you both Good Luck as you continue your journey🥾⛑🍀🌵Ouch!!

    Congratulations should be a wonderful journey. Once there you'll find Mexicans have a heart of gold. Notes If you are pulled over be super friendly same at any military check points. If they say they have to give you a ticket always take the ticket. You can pay at the nearest police station. They are not expensive. 99% when they see you will not pay the bribe they will wave you on. Use only English speaking with these officials. Only time you should pay a "fine" is if you are in or around Mexico city or in the State of Mexico and your plate has the letter for the no circulation day. Hoy No Circula (literally in Spanish: "today [your car] does not circulate", known as No-drive days)
    Monday5 or 6yellowTuesday7 or 8pinkWednesday3 or 4redThursday1 or 2greenFriday9 or 0 and those with letters only or temporary plates
    Enjoy all the great food. You're going to love it there. 👍🤙🌞 Great climb!

      Thanks for all the tips! We've done a bit of research but didn't come across the no drive days. That's good to know!
