Hello xukca. Yes you can do an initial track of some footage using the Tracker node, then add the splinewarp and add your pins. When you right click on one of the pins in the viewer you will get the option to 'Link To', then you select the track you wish to tie that pin to.

Hi! Thanks a lot for this tutorial, but I have a question.
How can I add motion blur to a Grid Warp animation? Motion Blur 2D node doesn't help and I'm having a really hard time to get the result that I want (animation seems a little bit unnatural).
    Thanks!

TeamEspada, nuke is for professional visual effects and after effects is mainly for motion graphics but you can use it for visual effects too

@mikeparadox Hello. The invert option was removed for Nuke 6.3v1, but there are plans to reinstate it. Hope this helps. I'll let you know when it's back.

It's funny to see how little this has developed since Elastic Reallity for Win 3.1. Back then I was also using 3D Studio for Dos ;) I still think ER beat everything hands down. What happened to ER? Oh yeah, Avid bougth it and killed it...

@TheFoundryChannel - Grip Ward? Is this a Tuke Nutorial? :)
@TeamEspada - Nuke is mostly aimed at compositing and grading. After Effects is a more generic animation / compositing / effects program. It integrates better with Adobe Premiere to create a hybrid editing / post-production suite. Nuke is more specialized and uses a "flowchart" style interface, more appropriate for compositing. It's also better at handling multiple channels and multiple color spaces. You can download demos of both.

Why are the tutorials on these tools a thousand years old. Version 6?? We are at version 11. How does the new splinewarp tool work because it doesn't behave like this. I can't make an open spline like you are doing.I can only create a roto shape which doesn't make sense as a spline warp tool.

Hello ToasterShow. If you go to our website (thefoundry dot co dot uk) and NUKE and select Training Resources from the right hand menu you'll find lots of NUKE tutorials.
The fxguide introductory tutorials should hopefully be the kind of thing you're looking for.
