Somtimes you can add a hole to a prvious sketch without error showing up. There also was always a workaround for this problem, using datum planes which are not constrained to the face, for evey sketch. I hope they fix it, but it is not that big of a problem really, if you know how to work around it. I love freecad so much.
No need in workaround, you should just update face in sketch property Map Mode. After sketch modification, number of faces gets changed so it looses reference to original face. FreeCAD should update it automatically, but in current implementation you have to do that manually through Map Mode sketch property.
I am using FreeCAD version 0.21.2 in this tutorial My problem is, I add a body and sketch to create a rectangle then an object but I cant add another body as the toolbar as changed, and I cant find any way to create another body to carry on with the tutorial. In your tutorial you dont have this problem, I am wondering is this related to Preferences? Hope you can Help.
Yes, I wonder if the developers on principle don't want to take good parts from other tools, or they legally can't do it? KiCAD ended up doing a lot of good work by incorporating what other tools did well. And even improved some of them. Same goes for the Assembly 3 branch of FreeCAD. Its way more reasonable than the main. I wish I knew how to write this type of code.
@@KostiantynD AFAIK Blender and KiCAD are in very different positions. Volunteer-only is always tough. But you want the devs to at least admit the problems. In the past I've seen quite a bit of "you are just holding it wrong" from people defending the status quo. I hope this has changed - or will. I see a lot of potential in FreeCAD. But it still makes me want to scream "why, oh why?!!" way to often. I hope they will find their way with the new branches. It's dearly needed. And (while very different) when I look at Plasticity (from a single dev) you know there is room for improvement.

did you figure it out?
Your lessons are very clear, but at 5:36 ...very easily just grab...., it's abacadabra for me. I did try it for about an hour, but no reslults.
Found solution. Going to look om it when needed. wiki.freecad.org/Topological_naming_problem
it took me some time but I have accepted
Great video. But comes to show how much of a UX nightmare FreeCAD still is.
