- William Tisaby is an ex-FBI agent who worked as a private investigator sometimes. In 2018 he was hired by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner to investigate former Missouri Governor Greitens about the invasion of privacy charges he faced.
His testimony contained multiple contradictions about the due diligence he performed while investigating certain people involved in the governor's scandal. He was then charged with perjury.
Since then, CA Gardner's office has been the subject of multiple scandals, including a more than 160% turnover rate, overworked staff, and prosecutors resigning to avoid committing malpractice.
Over the past three years, no less than four charges brought by the CAO were necessarily dropped either due to prosecutors' failure to arrive in court, or general malpractice. Among those four dropped charges were two murder cases and one car bombing. The CAO did not convey to the victims’ families that the defendants had been released, which violates state law.
Judge Michael Noble held her in contempt of court, along with an assistant circuit attorney who has since resigned. Given this dereliction of duty, it's really unbelievable how she still holds onto the majority support of St. Louis, and refuses to resign from office.
I didn't recall the case. The charges were dropped because the photo involved couldn't be produced/found. Apparently, Greitens had an affair, during which he tricked the woman into be bound and blindfolded so that he could take pictures of her naked, with which he blackmailed her to never tell anyone about the affair.
It seems that this deponent lied about not taking notes during an interview, as their was supposedly video footage of the interview, in which he is seen taking notes.
You couldn’t write a skit this good. This guys gold!

I have to assume that virtually every, if not every, certified question was ordered/will be ordered to be answered by the deponent. "I don't want to answer" is not an acceptable justification for not answering a question during a deposition, and that is essentially the only reason he had.
Btw... if it was in public, you can take a picture of any fucking thing/person you want without getting ANYONE'S permission.

Throughout this deposition you can hear Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner objecting and coaching the witness. It strikes me how gravely unprepared Mr Tisaby is for the depo. It’s as if she had planned to throw him under the bus. Portraying him like a bumbling incompetent fool who didn’t know any better. This deflects from the political nature of the investigation, and how she grandstands her democratic base.

Well he pleaded guilty and got six months probation. Perjury convictions are pretty rare, but it was the only actionable thing among CA Gardner’s many scandals, so they had to do it or else set a poor precedent.
