Hi Derek, thank you so much for taking the time to share all these cool ideas for geocaching. I have placed a few gadget caches inspired by VWTim, now I will try to build a few of your ideas. Keep up the great work!!!
When you started putting this together, yeah, I had that DOH! moment. I used one of these boxes in a gospel magic routine but never thought about using it for a geocache!! Job well done and thanks for sharing!
Very cool looking! I love the video thumbnail. Wow! Lol. I wonder how well this will work with the single LEDs that I already have. I am also going to pick up some of the 4 and 8 pack AA battery holders that I saw on Gadget Talk. I imagine those would work well to internally power the cache. Can you recommend a heat gun to use with the Solder Seal Wire Connectors? Thanks for another great video.
Thank you yeah that is a fun thumbnail lol. Yeah those do well depending on the power requirements. The heat gun I have I for on Amazon and I think it was less than $30 US.
What happens if someone just shines a flashlight at the mirror, rather than finding the reed switch to turn on the light? Can they read the combo that way?
Have you ever found a cache like this? Do you think you could make one of these?
Very COOL!! We are beginners and have only seen a handful of unique caches. I can't wait to find more :D
I found one of these a few years ago near Ogden, Utah. Loved it!!!
that is a true WOW factor...you will get lots of favorite points for sure!
I hope so.
Wow factor, indeed! That's a pretty cool idea for a cache.
I thought so too

Your Welcome. That is cool some of my first ones where based on his as well. Good luck please share which ones you do your own spin on.
@@BehindtheCache will do.
Cool concept for sure, especially as you say... for a night cache!
The effect is cool in daylight but really cool in the dark.
Wow, such an inspiring idea. Got to love a wow factor. Thankyou so much, I'd love to be try my hand to do something like this.
Thank you. Yeah it is a fun idea. I am wanting to make more of these in some different ways.

Yeah I have done those Magic Routines too a long time ago for Children’s ministries. I will have to go look at that stuff again too.
Pretty awesome 😎
Thank you
Awesome! I found the original one in CO a few months ago and was really impressed by the design
That is cool. I hope I will be able to see that one in person someday.
Nice. I realized what you were doing about halfway through, hehe
Doesn’t hurt that I told you what I was making either. Lol
neat idea :)
I thought it was really cool. Happy that it is actually really easy to make.

This is soo cool! Love the idea and I'm glad I got to know Rick in the last video I watched. Do you ship to Austria? ;-)
Yes I can but you have to pay shipping.
@@BehindtheCache I got to find one cache variant that I am able to maintain with my two left hands first. :-)
Nice cache !!!
On what show on Netflix did you see that ?? :)
Thanks it was the “The Big Flower Fight”. I think it was like episode 4 they were make large mobiles
What happens if someone just shines a flashlight at the mirror, rather than finding the reed switch to turn on the light? Can they read the combo that way?
A little but it is hard to read. That is why I used silver market to write the numbers.
@@BehindtheCache My silver paint pen was too shiny, I think. I'll get a silver sharpie. Thanks for the quick reply. We have one almost completed!
Sweet good luck with it. Are you going to make it a night cache?
No, it will placed in a state park as park of their geocaching challenge.
