    You have to look living in San Diego Compared to neighboring cities or states. Obviously there some good and bad but living in San Diego all my life and traveling to everywhere else I would say its mostly better then most. And I say most base on an average person. Yes theres traffic and yes it is expensive compared to other places however we are talking as over all its a really nice place- you have the beaches, mountains, deserts, nice weather, different types of food and for the most its a culturally diverse city that you wouldnt for t he most have to look over your shoulders walking down the street. Like I said. this is a general consensus for the average person/ family.

    I mean to invest my own money in the Real Estate in San Diego, what is your Advice? And will you take me for a tour?

    • @DanPBestLifeSD
      @DanPBestLifeSD  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a tough place to invest unless you have money to spend. If you want to put less than 20% down, then your mortgage will probably end up being more than what you can rent the property for.

    Hi! I love your videos. I recently was accepted into UCSD’s chemical biology PhD track, and am heavily considering going there for graduate school. My main concern (you guessed it) is the cost of living. Do you know of any relatively affordable areas that I would be able to rent a room for $1000 or less per month and still be somewhat close to La Jolla and/or along the blue line trolley?

      Thanks Robert! And congrats on the good news.
      TBH I don't know of anywhere in SD where you can find rent under $1k. You might have to rent out a room or something like that. Check out the moving2sandiego subreddit, and let the community know what you are looking for. You might get some help there! www.reddit.com/r/Moving2SanDiego/

    Thanks for all the content Dan, have enjoyed all the videos. What are your thoughts on the air pollution in the suburbs of San Diego? We are considering a move to the area in 3-4 years and that is really our only concern.

    • @DanPBestLifeSD

      Thanks Shawn! If you do a quick Google search you can view the air quality index of San Diego. Today it's listed as a 26, which is good.
      I think San Diego is spread out enough, and it's so close to the water, that the air quality usually doesn't get too bad. Personally, I just prefer to live at least a mile or so from the freeway, but that's just my personal preference

    I own a single family house built 2018 (3 bed 2 bath) here in monterey county north cali and I am curious if its easy to buy a studio / 1 bed condo in San diego? Do lenders allow condos? I live by myself so im thinking of downsizing and moving in a city. Im planning of selling this house (but need to wait til my solar panels get installed) and use the equity as downpayment.

      @DanPBestLifeSD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, absolutely you can get a conventional loan for a studio/condo!

    Enjoying the videos! I'm still in the saving for a downpayment phase. Seems I may be opposite of what many are looking for. I want less hustle and bustle, and more quiet and space from neighbors. Unless I want to move to Alpine or Jamul I'm not seeing a lot.

    Helpful video. I have question..... Im loyal to my credit union and plan on getting financed wit them before i begin my house hunt.... is it more beneficial to get financed through a separate financial company? "Like"

      Hey Ernie!
      I've had both good and bad experiences with lenders in the past. It's because of the bad experiences that I always recommend my favorite lender to my clients. I know their rates are good, they are knowledgeable, they close on time, and their customer service is incredible.
      But with that said it never hurts to get a couple opinions. Talk to your credit union, and talk to another lender or two. See what they approve you for, what their rates are, and what that monthly payment would look like. You definitely want to make sure the numbers all make sense, but you also want to work with someone that is just helpful and do a great job explaining everything for you.

    Wow, just found your channel recently and you do a great job on these videos! Girlfriend and I are hoping to move from Long Island, NY, she being a surfer and I being a mountain biker I was wondering if you know anything about the cycling scene in the area? Is mountain biking something you've seen anybody coming for?

      I have had friends visit San Diego for mountain biking, but that is basically the extent of my knowledge! There are tons of nice trails and hikes throughout the county, and I'm sure there are a good handful that are mountain bike-friendly
