❓ Who we are?
We are a family of 4, escaping city life for adventures in the countryside. We use our van as a daily drive, to extend a day out and for family holidays.
We have a T5 VW 2004 campervan ready converted when we bought it but have added lots since buying it.
We try to do videos of products we use in our van, how we use our van with a family, and instructional videos.

Yes I think when we just travel with our van that is a fab idea . I’ll need to see how I could add this easily to my existing system along with securing the panel on the tailgate - great idea
only shell island i know of is in Wales? no where near england. The other largest camp site is cocos, which is also in Wales. but hey the whole of the uk will soon be renamed to illegals paradise island as it sinks into the sea with over crowding. great vid

looks like glastonbury without the music, prefer the more unknown quiet campsites more relaxing

I personally prefer more isolated less dominated sites otherwise it’s not an relaxing experience for us.

Shell Island at the end of March into April the beginning of May is a fantastic place however, through the summer months it’s full of Chavs and flee bags who have no consideration for anyone else by playing music late at night, or even in the daytime, right next to people who do not want to hear music, and you get lots of idiots who just want to go there to get drunk and end up causing trouble. It’s a very sad place through the summer time, however, the end of September into October is fantastic, very peaceful 🙌
Yes I have to say one need to pick the right pitch for a quiet night - we always find a spot in the dunes

Get a 3 way fridge that you can switch to gas,bottle of gas 6kg is £28 to exchange.
I agree - and after your comment I’m googling it . I’m not sure where I’d put an LPG tank but I think this may be the way forward
I recommend a 3 way fridge too but generally use a cool box and buy ice bags from the shop
I went there as a child over 45 years ago, solution for drinks to be kept cool.. Bury then in the ground in plastic bag filled with water and a lid on top cover with sand mark spot.. drinks stay super cool as sand does not hold heat well. Battery, my dad had a second battery that was connected to the first and a type of switch that could be toggled to charge it when needed. This was being done while out on trips to Barmouth or where ever for the day.. We had fridge and Tv , also it ran a shower pump .. we put up wind breakers in a circle and a few tent poles with one spike on the top with guide lines to hold the pole in place, that pole had a pipe running up it from a barrel that had a 12 v pump in the barrel, that was connected to the battery when needed for a shower in the evenings. The shower head was from a watering can, plastic.. we were the envy of the site.. i loved every moment there but not been back in years... Wife does not like to camp sadly for me..

re battery and fridge? what size battery do you have/. what size solar panel. do you have mppt or pwm charger and is your frdge a compressor fridge and what make n model?
We’re having a new lithium battery fitted. Soon . Can’t wait
on that news i am assuming you have a lithium compliant mppt for your solar and a lithium compliant b2b from your alternator to lithium leisure battery?

Getting b2b fitted but not sure solar still works so getting that tested then if not I’m saving up for a new one

Love Shell, you have to pick the right spot for your needs. My sister is going for first time this weekend i said dont panic and just park in the first spot you see. Drive round a bit there is no rush.

Hi Ruth ... love the channel love the reviews and after having a pop top fitted im looking for a mattress for the roof, everyone i looked at was to wide but the vango looked perfect , how was the actual fit .....cheers Dave
Hi dave , thanks for the comment and encouragement.
The vango self inflating is a perfect fit but I use this on top of my r and roll bed for extra comfort . For the pop top I got a memory foam single mattress and just cut it down to fit with scissors .
Both work great and can stay ( individually) in the pop top when it’s in drive mode .

I live in Alicante now but between 1970 to 1988 my parents took my brother and i to Shell every summer holiday. Im 53 now 😱 but watching your fantastic vid brought me back especially the carefully applied full face of make up to go Crabbing 🤣🤣 ( not that i was a patch on your stunningly beautiful daughter )
