and then destroyed it by doing political stunts and chased off fans instead of entertaining the audience
They should have given Stargirl at least two more seasons. We probably could have gotten the last season of Stargirl this year too if they didn’t cancel it. I think they should have at least given Batwoman and Legends one more season too, so they could have wrapped up the shows conclusively without any plot threads hanging. They probably could have gotten the seasons out in the same year they canceled. This upsets me so much because it leaves the Arrowverse feeling unfinished. The only comfort I have is that in another reality all the Arrowverse shows had proper endings and they had one more last big crossover across all the DC shows.
Think about this. We've watched the death of The WB, UPN both of which became the CW and now they've killed THAT. Warner and Paramount have no one to blame but themselves when all the rest of there empires implode due to their greed and stupidity.
But at least for a golden period we actually all got to see Superheros on TV!! You'll never see anything like the Arrowverse again.

I knew when the CW was sold it would be killed. They would sell the shows to other streaming companies to make money and they had no intention of continuing anything. It's sad I will miss these shows!
The third and final season of stargirl was awesome and the end video setup was crazy . Should have kept it going

yea the fact CW wasn't even promote the show that they hate the show with superman and Lois and HBO max most did everything that why both show was so good and CW barely promote both show like at one point I didn't know a stargirl was coming back cause CW didn't even promote it so I hope that HBO max or another network take the license and finish it and also Pagey did a video of what was Stargirl plan was a spinoff where the hero kid with power have their own show and suppose be a big crossover,

Flash should have stayed but as OP legend, Supernatural left same as Smallville but both needed to come back. They also should have picked up Lucifer and rebooted Gotham. But honestly the biggest let down was Grant Gustin was not in the flash movie.
The only shows I care about now are Superman and Lois and All American, a show I was on the fence of checking out but my uncle wanted to watch it and as of now, we’re still watching because it’s still a solid show!
Yooo loving another All American fan its a really good show and i love the fact that basically all the cast is still in it even after 6 seasons you gotta respect that. Its getting to its end real soon im sad but its been a good 6 years, i think they can manage atleast 1 more season though
The CW died when the new leadership took over. After Superman and Lois season 4 ends, I will have no reason to ever watch the CW again.

idk after like season 3-4 of the Flash, the wokeness began to kick in hard. "omg iris if u die i'll be sad 4 life" and every plot after was the same feeling. Also, Chester/Ralph/Allegra were AWFUL additions to the show.
I think what will end up happening with networks is that they''ll concentrate their programing on sports and news. Because everything is about streaming now. Disney has ABC, Disney Channel but everything is for Disney +.
Honestly the cw started to die around the flash s6, I still tuned in but there was a lack of quality in the writing which turned a lot of people away until superman and lois aired when that writing came back
Too me CW ended with Arrow now that Flash is gone they cancelled Stargirl and Superman&Lois is ending just the final nail in the coffin
I read about a year ago the network is going in a different direction. More Sports orientated as I understand it. One of many reasons why many shows got canceled.

The only time I watch the CW is when an arrowverse show is on. Once Superman in done I will have no need for that channel. It was fun while it lasted.
If they are smart, the way things were going down. They would’ve had a ending or alternate ending just in case they were canceled.
CW is going to be focusing on sports mostly (at least thats i heard). Which is why im excited about the nascar xfinity series on CW next year

CW is a mess, but this is network TV in general, I don't think Supernatural would work today if it started in 2024, I love the show but what I mean is that Supernatural was appointment TV, you watched 22 or 23 episodes a season, people kept coming back and it took over pop culture. You could say the same thing about other network shows like Friends, Seinfeld, NYPD Blue, The X Files, The West Wing, Modern Family, 24 and so on. Nothing really takes over pop culture anymore because people move on so fast to the next thing, appointment TV is dead, most people won't watch a show with over 20 episodes a season anymore because they can't pay attention to one thing for that long and Networks really don't want to keep the same show on the air for like 7 seasons or more because they don't want pay talent. This is why Network TV is going as cheap as possible with mostly reality shows or talent shows. It does bum me out because some shows like Supernatural, The X Files, The Next Generation or 24 really did benefit from doing over 20 episodes a season because they took their time with telling a story. 8 episodes a season does work best for some shows, I think Stranger Things is one example that less is more, and they only need 8 episodes a season, but many other shows need more.
If you look at how CW started and how it’s always been revamping every few years, it’s not surprising
History repeats itself. The CW was previously UPN. Built its fan base and audience on black viewers and shows, only to cancel them all

The CW is more so The WB and UPN combined into one channel with The CW carrying on more of teen drama style programming from The WB.
Most of those black shows were awful, they had low ratings and were losing money. You can't blame a network for moving on.
Happy and thankful to have worked on many of these shows, especially smallville. Now currently working on Marvel stuff, but still. Really wish the superman and lois show had, had another 2 or so seasons, and fleshed out great stories for each of the characters like Irons and his daughter, this is disappointing.

All American just got renewed for a new season
If Nexstar does end up selling The CW and in a surprising turn of event Warner Bros takes back the majority and CBS pulls out completely at that point the might as well turn the network back into The WB
Its not even the CW anymore, its The Nexstar Network now, that company took a really good Network and killed it in a single stroke. All their new cheap shows are garbage and that's because they are to cheap to make any real investment on a good show. Nextstar is run by total idiots. Other than Superman & Lois and Walker which I downloaded the episodes every week I have no desire to watch anything that Network has to offer because its all garbage. I see the Network losing lots of viewers and money and forced to sell, I give it a few years for that to happen and maybe whoever buys it will restore the Network to what it once was.
From what I heard the new owners wanted to get rid of all original content and focus on being paid to air programming from Canada and the UK and daytime talk shows.
I've not seen more than a few scripted shows from outside the US.
@@mbyerly9680 for a while the CW was running a show about a small English village where the police were being filmed like the show Cops and kept running into weird supernatural stuff.
I saw a few episodes and it was pretty funny.
I grew up watching British sitcoms on PBS and there are a lot of good ones out there.

Honestly season 4 is a good place for Superman and Lois to end.
Every CW DC show was good for 4-5 seasons and then got significantly worse.
Superman can avoid that plague
I started with the CW back in 2005 with supernatural, going on almost 20 years now, with Supernatural and the Arrowverse. When Supernatural concluded I got into Superman & Lois, which hooked me with its refreshing new take on Superman. Then I got hooked with WALKER, which surprised me given that I'm not much for westerns/cowboys etc shows but it got me interested because it had Jared Padalecki as its lead of whom I was a fan. It's been a great show, the TOP show of the network followed by Superman & Lois if I'm not mistaken. I understand they canceled Superman & Lois given that Warner Bros has big dealings with HBO/Max and all their library is over there and I'm sure they're gonna want to do a Superman show someday over there which won't be restrained to the limits the shows on the CW have had. But what I don't understand is for them to now cancel their most successful show, the TOP show on their network. I'm soo pissed off with the CW! With Superman & Lois cancelation, Walker was the ONLY reason I was tuning into the CW. But now. I'm so done. Idiots in positions of power, that's what they have going over there.
CW is one of the first thing that spark my interest in DC, the Arrowverse (and DCAU) were my childhood. It's so sad that they're gone now, I still remember waiting for the new Arowverse's episode on TV
Tv in general is dying for me. Almost on main networks that I care to watch & streaming networks take off years between each 6-8 episode season.
Well they could just buy something interesting to show. Reruns of old HBO shows. It's not really a network anymoew.
I just finished rewatching Smallville on Hulu. The WB/CW actually spent the $ to properly fund a show back then.
All-American while not cancelled is mostly ending the OG story this season with Spencer getting drafted so that might as well be the series finale and homecoming has essentially foreshadowed this season would be the last

I would love to see someone with talent and a budget getting these shows and doing a soft reboot to do specials for the various shows keeping what worked and dropping what didn't and using the specials to move forward on some manner.
CW ruined the flash TV series. Losing tom c and Carlos was the end of it. Matt letscher should have been on the flash more.

The CW never made money. It's hardly a surprise the new owners would move in a different direction. Although Superman & Lois was very good, they'd pretty much killed the killed the Arrowverse long before that. The Flash became unwatchable, and Supergirl....ooof!
I've been watching the CW since the 90's when it was the WB. Over the years it was my most watched channel. I stopped watching the CW after Arrowverse shows went away except for Superman and Lois. After it goes off I won't be watching it again. To me it's pretty much dead.

I stopped watching CW when they became transformed from UPN, until the flash started showing then I watched that til I got behind in the same year it started other than that screw CW, they ruined my UPN.
The Cw died for me when the last episode of the the Flash aired
you dont think the new james gunn dc movie universe is going to spawn some sort of tv show reboot- if not on the cw maybe on hbo max with new versions of arrow, flash, etc... even if its multiverse versions like maybe the flash movies flashpoint ending could be a catalyst for multi earth versions of hero characters popping through.
I don't have much positive to say about the CW shows aside from Arrow and the early seasons of the flash but Tyler Hoechlin is the best superman actor after Reeves. he really fits the role, I wish they would hire him to do the A-list DC movies rather than Henry Cavill who is so robotic. Hell, I'd also take Grant Gustin over what's his face in the DCEU as the flash.
The CW died in 2023 with the new owners cancelling all their superhero shows and anything like it; this is nothing new. I will also say that the quality of the shows have been bad for a few years now with terrible sappy dialog and boring plots; so I’m not really up set, it really was a slow death.
I stopped watching super man and Louis as it did become pretty boring after season 2.
i think the end of the CW was started by Cbs they are Paramount network and were part of the merger, and they backed out to start their own streaming service, Cbs All Access , they wanted to make Star Trek fans pay to watch their new Star Trek tv show, instead of airing it on the CW like they were supposed to do because that was what the CW was for, Paramount's Star Trek shows and Warner Bros' Superhero shows. so they backed out of the deal and made a streaming service and started the Streaming Wars, which caused all the other channels to start Streaming Services, and all the writers went to work for the Streaming Services, and regular tv started sucking and all the commercials left regular tv, causing them to cancel tv shows on regular tv. so this is all Cbs's fault.
The CW was created to give a platform for WB and CBS shows. CBS is for sale along with Parmount+ as the owner (Shari Redstone) cannot deal with the losses that are continuing. They lost any interest in the CW and then the WB threw in the towel as well. They have no commitment from the new owners after this year to have any shows on the network. The CW owners are partnering with CTV (Canadian TV) to bring most of their series programming now, paying part of the production cost of some shows to show them soon after Canada airs them. Wild Cards is one of those shows which was renewed by both networks for a second season. Spencer Sisters was another canceled after 1 season. It is cheaper for the CW to do this, and they make money with these.
Because i haven't continually bench watching the flash because i wasn't paying 15$ a month for Netflix and 100$ for viasat internet. I bought the complete flash dvd collection the complete arrow DVD collection and working on building into it with supergirl legends and everything else cool about the cw series of DC episode's

One of the next Store‘s big deals or licensing since they owned it was broadcasting live golf tournaments and then one thing that soured next Store entertainment live golf deal, a few months ago live golf and PGA agreed to do a merger and that’s actually also hurt next star entertainment.
I sadly fell off when watching the DC shows and Riverdale and at this point I’m not really interested in returning since CW is slowly falling off.
I’ll keep saying, CW should just officially declare themselves bankrupt; sell all your IPs to different studios and cut your losses.
the end came maybe for the Cw when the Rock tried to take over Warner Bros, this cause Walter Hamada to leave, he was doing good at making movies and tv shows, that were leading up to Justice League 2 Vs the Legion of Doom, with Aquaman having Black Manta in it, and the Cheetah was in WW84, and Solomon Grundy was in Star girl tv show, so they were laying the groundwork for a Justice Leauge 2 Vs the Legion of Doom, but the Rock came in and wanted a Black Adam movie , a sequel to the Shazam movie i didn't want either of those movies, but they derailed the Wb movies, and caused them to lose money . and that is when Walter Hamada left, when the Rock's Black Adam movie premiered.

i liked the Wb and Upn had Deep Space Nine, Wb had Charmed and Smallville , then they merged into the CW and we got Veronica Mars and then the Arrowverse tv shows, i liked Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman and Stargirl, i liked the Flash sometimes but sometimes that tv show sucked and was boring
Yee this is a shame but the network doesnt feel profitable at all. The only other show i enjoy from it is All American and that feels like its at the end of its road too. Im not surprised the network has been hemorrhaging money for awhile now especially at a time when Tv is dying

The CW ended a long time ago.
So a coupd of things. WB has an actual network just not a local one like CBS ABC Fox NBC outisde of the little percent they own in the CW. HBO belongs to WB. Also all of the Discovery channels as well. Second I dont see Nextstar selling anytime soon. It was a reason that Nextstar was the only option to sell in the first place. It wasnt just the debt. Both Walker and All American are still airing their episodes of what could be their last season ( With Walker being cancelled its last season). Its also isnt a definite that All American and AA homecoming gets cancelled for sure. The belief is at least one out of the three will survive at least for another season and air midseason next year. The belief was that Walker would be the one but it was the first to be cancelled. As far profits Nextstar will air not only sports including college games from 2 conference and WWE NXT but also reality tv and shows that aren't heavily scripted like decrating shows and competitions so it wont be all syndication shows. I imagine they will probably see a profit in about 4 years or sooner depending on what they do. Lastly the cw was always designed to be a network that didn't turn a profit. It just eventually became that. WB didnt care because they were just trying to do other things and well stop caring especially when arrowverse came and they can sell the rights to the shows on Netflix and get those checks
