    VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
To start, we’re going to explain what equality, diversity, equity and inclusion mean.
First of all, equality. This means offering the same rights and opportunities to ALL people.
Second, equity. This means offering those rights and opportunities FAIRLY, which means catering to people’s DIFFERENCES, so they are given fair ACCESS to the opportunities.
Third, diversity. This is understanding that each person is unique. It means embracing the range of human differences, including people’s beliefs, abilities, preferences, backgrounds, values and identities.
And, inclusion is an extension of all these things. It means that ALL people, without exception, have the right to be included, respected and appreciated as valuable members of the community.
Let’s put these words into context.
Imagine that you send a company-wide email to your colleagues and invite them out for coffee - this is an example of inclusion because EVERYONE has been invited.
A handful of people accept the invite and within the hour you’re at the coffee shop and a barista asks you all, in turn, what you'd like to order. This is an example of equality - because every member of your group is given the same opportunity to order from the same menu.
A member of your group has deteriorating eyesight so they need extra consideration in order to have FAIR ACCESS to this opportunity. The barista demonstrates equity by offering your colleague the choice between a menu with large text or a menu with braille, so they can make their order. Now, everyone has an equal opportunity AND fair access to it.
And finally diversity. This is represented in the order itself! Between you all, you order two cappuccino’s - one with chocolate on top, a skinny latte, two americanos - one decaf, a hot chocolate, two English breakfast teas, and a hot water with lemon. And interestingly, none of you, not for a moment, consider that there’s anything unusual about the differences in your drink choices - no one makes a comment or even thinks anything of it.
...Now, imagine a world where we all accept each other’s differences as naturally as we accept each other’s drink orders…
Sadly, the reality is, many of us struggle to accept the things that make someone different from us - and instead - we allow these differences to separate us from other people. We forget that someone else’s uniqueness is just as important as our own - because even though we’re all different, we’re all human beings, and we are equals.
So this course has been designed to offer a refreshing take on why it’s so important for us to treat each and every person as our equal, and how this can be put into practice.

The narrative of D.E.I. assumes facts not in evidence, that minorities are victims of systemic discrimination, and that simply isn’t true.
Diversity is about recognition of minority groups based upon arbitrary (racist or discriminatory) markers, AND CATEGORIZING INDIVIDUALS INTO GROUPS BASED UPON IDENTITY RATHER THAN MERIT.
Equity is about equality of outcomes rather than equality of opportunities. In other words, it is NOT merit based. It is identity based, and this is NOT fair. It seeks to distribute favourable outcomes based upon identity, rather than merit, and this a disastrous recipe for failure.
Inclusion is about using discriminatory practices to EXCLUDE individuals from participation based upon merit or competence, and to INCLUDE individuals based upon identity in spite of lack of merit or competence, AND THIS IS PREJUDICIAL AND DISCRIMINATORY.
    D.E.I. in a nutshell.

@@bradspringer2372 You’re welcome. I took the time to explain the ideology behind the concepts, because the actual practices and outcomes are actually quite different from what people are led to believe. On the surface it all sounds good and reasonable, but underneath it’s really just rotten manipulation. Often well intended, but simply tragic in consequence.

@@glenncox9128 most people doing DEI are not well intended at all. Usually vengeful, naive and incompetent. I'd say the only way they can gain certain amount of power and attentions is through the unfair treatment and influence from DEI. Being stupid as f is probably the most "well intended" people among them. I'm not saying that all of them are like this, but the damage they've done in these years are pretty obvious. I'm an Asian student, I see how woke people just doing nothing in the university and complain about how society is oppressing them when they try to find a decent job that requires minimal IQ. I was in engineering, girls and non-white, non-Asian people have special scholarships, they have more opportunities when applying for master's degree because of this. The entire society encourages females and minorities to seek stem jobs and majors, they have special scholarships and fundings, and yet, here we are, blaming the imaginary patriarchy and white supreme society for all the problems. The more they try to pretend to be wholesome victims, the more of a joke they are. And yes, I agree this is a rotten manipulation.

@@_Maxl344 Well said. DEI is not about merit or competence. It’s a fallacious and untenable proposition, which wrongly assumes identity oppression. It’s Marxism rebranded.

    • @_Maxl344

@@glenncox9128 exactly, and they don't even rebrand Marxism sometimes, change equality to equity is probably the most obvious one. Although they were not doing what they claimed when they still said equality was the main goal to achieve, they were at least pushing an idea that made some sense. If they were scamming in the past to get more rights and power, now they're just asking for it straight away. I think the reason why they're pushing even further to the left is because some data starts to show the complete opposite of what they believe. Google investigated the pay gap between male and female with similar works and efficiency and found out males were underpaid, google gave millions to solve this problem, this should be compatible with what the left believed so called equality, but instead, feminists just sued Google for gender discrimination against women. So it's pretty obvious that woke people really just want more special treatments, they don't understand with more rights, you need to carry more responsibilities, and they can't accept the reality even after they have found out the truth. They're just a bunch of bad losers who want to make everyone suffer but themselves less suffering, and pretend to be victims so they can play on the moral high ground they created for themselves.
