I've been using the V5 catus triggers for a few years and have never had a miss fire or failure whatsoever! I even had one hit some rocks on a shoot when my stand blew over, it survived and works fine. I will be most definitely upgradeing to these without question. I would highly recommend v5s to anyone without a doubt & I dare say these will perform just as well if not better! Cactus are getting better and better, especially when you look back at where they started to where they are now.
To be clear, the ttl pass through, is only for the flash (equiped with ttl) mounted on the v6 that is mounted on the camera. It doesn't controle/send ttl to other off camera flashes... You can tho, use flashes from cactus in manual mode, and combine them with ttl pass through and cls from nikon for example. I use cls with sofboxes and manual for the rest, works awsome. Cactus flashes are awsome! Love them. (and the sb700, the sb5000 sucks)
Matt - V6s are UNIVERSAL - they units you have will work equally well on Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus and Panasonic bodies and offer TTL pass through with those brands of camera. On other cameras (Sony, film bodies etc) V6s will fire and remote control supported flashes, the only missing feature is TTL pass through.
V6s are compatible with ALL cameras. The same units work on Olympus & Panasonic micro 4/3 bodies as well as Nikon, Canon, Pentax & Fuji. In fact TTL pass through (for V6 on camera with flash on top) is supported for those brands. Other brands such as Sony and old film cameras will fire the V6s as well.
Leo Klein Note that Oly and Pana bodies and flashes can be triggered and that TTL pass-through is supported for those systems, but that you (currently) can't remotely set the power of Oly and Pana flashes. Only flashes designed by (and for!) Canon, Nikon and Pentax. So nearly everything can be triggered, but not everything controlled.
Has the RF60 the radio built in? I'd like to get 1 cactus v6 and 2 RF60. I'd put the cactus on my camera (Olympus OMD EM1) to radio control the two flashes on 2 different stands. Is that possible? :) Thanks!
the only one downside i can see here is lack of AF ASSIST. if you do weddings or anything with events, most of the time you have lack of light and without AF ASSIST you are screwed. i can see only one solution here - to piggyback YN, but then when you think about it, why don't get YN in the first place? I'm not sure if you can control power using YN, need to google and find it out, but for me as an event tog, AF is a must and if it would have AF i would save so much time googling and reading, I would just get them and thats it.
I have a couple of sets of the V5 and I love them, never had a problem other than a few minor quibbles. The V6 and RF60 raise the bar to a new level for off camera flash.

What do you think about White Lightning studio flash for the occasional portrait session?
any follow up review?
Hi Matt, Would this work with my Sony a6000 + Canon 580EX II? The High Speed sync in the description was only 1/1000 sec, Can we go higher?
Will this work on a GH4 ?
thanks for video - was just looking into the V6 - good info - so not compatible with Olympus and Panasonic M43?

would love to know if i can controll the power on my Yongnuo 560 - III...
The YN560-III is not compatible because you'll need a TTL flash, so the YN-568EX-II can be controlled remotely.
***** what about the YN- 565 Version?

One of the negatives on the unit is that the firmware updater program does not support Mac.

Are these Chinese made?
Hello ZXLNT, Cactus is designed and engineered in Hong Kong, assembled in China.
1/8000 sync? Wow!
Yes but you need optical and a rf60.. I figured out how to do it with radio and the rf60.. brianhurseyphotography.com/blog/?p=700
