InDesign Script Resolve Overset Text

Fix overset text in InDesign documents. JavaScript for InDesign detects overset text, creates a text frame off-page, and links to the frame so the hidden content is revealed. When confident the revealed overset text is excess, the script can then delete the unwanted content and added frames. Video tutorial is Windows. Script works the same both macOS and Windows.

No a solution like that needs a human to decide how to make it fit. The purpose of this script is just to make it visible. How to fix overset text requires intelligence beyond what a script can provide.

Hello, when I insert a Word file and press the Shift key, all the text disappears, and when I open new pages and insert the hidden text, the text does not appear either. How can I solve this problem?

Hi, Does it work on tables?

For a text frame that holds a table, and the table exceeds the text frame size, yes. But for table cell text overflow, no. However, table cells only overflow when row height is set to "exactly" instead of "at least." Fix by selecting all rows and change row height to "at least". Any row that overflowed then instead increases its height until no text overflows.
