I have a bunch of McQuay's . One 90 ton with 6d semi hermertic compressors. I just did this a year ago on my 90 ton RTU. I change oil on compressor, filter driers when doing so.
What exactly is the problem with semi-hermatic compressor and you replace all pressure valves etc... ? Appreciate your response as I am a new HVAC Technician learning. Thanks
This system utilizes a pump down cycle to shut the compressor down. Basically a liquid line solenoid valve closes when there is no longer a call mechanical cooling. The compressor is deenergized when the low pressure switch on the suction opens. One or more of the valves were leaking refrigerant back into the suction raising the pressure and causing the compressor to energize. The compressor would repeat the pump down cycle running until the low pressure switch opened again. The compressor was short cycling and running every few minutes for a short period of time.
worse still is if you drop a pin into the compressor gas galleries in the casting, especially if you think you have dropped it outside the compressor, that would be bad.when its really inside.😱

Good video man
Thank you for taking time and creating this video.
Great work. You do things the right way. Make some more videos ✌️
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I am planning on releasing more content soon as I have a few things in the works.
Thank you for sharing this video semi-hermetic rrpaire.
Awesome video man. You got lucky on that gasket. I’ve spent up to an hour trying to get that crap off

Tom Mccann
Doing well, hope the same for you. Talk to you soon Tom
I never take them aliment pins out. They are case harden and if you break one trying to get it out your fked trust me.

Not if you know what you're doing.
