Yooo how clear and easy to understand and learn you make tagalog sounds like! I've been in the Philippines for 5yrs now, I swear I was struggling so hard I practically learned nothing!
I was even skeptical at first when I researched tagalog learning videos and thought that my efforts to learn would fail again lol.
You are a great teacher, thank you!
I'm going to repeat all those videos and practice them and now with confidence that I'll learn, I already have a dictionary for the words.
Grammar is so essential and I feel dumb for thinking just listening to natives and interacting with them would be enough lol it's not, at least not for me.

    1. aso ko - my dog (possessive adjective)
    2. akin ang asong ito - this dog is mine (possessive pronoun)
    3. ang aking aso - my dog (is this the exact translation? or more like the dog that is mine?)
What would be the difference between 1 and 3, and how would you call the grammatical term for 3?
Thanks for your help, your videos are very well structured and helpful!

i've noticed that “aso ko” is used more often and sounds natural, while “aking aso” is used in malikhaing pagsulat (creative writing). i think they also differ on focus, but don't quote me on this. “aso ko” focuses on ASO (aso ko ang kumain niyan // answers the question: who // sino ang kumain nito? ang aso ko.), while “aking aso” focuses on AKIN (akin ang asong ito. // answers the question: whose // kaninong aso ito? sa akin.)

ko emphasizes on what you own
      my DOG - aso ko
      my HOUSE - bahay ko
      my LIFE - buhay ko
      akin emphasizes on who owns
      MY dog - aking aso
      YOUR dog - iyong aso
      THEIR dog - kanilang aso

Go watch her 2 videos on actor vs object focused verbs. She explains the difference there if I’m not wrong.
