I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I've been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I've qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level. - กีฬา
Hello Matt! Greetings from Brazil! One of my favorite color of all time is the "firetiger" I just need some clouds and there is a firetiger lure in my rod! I've been painting chartreuse belly on my white wake baits also! Sorry for any english mistakes.
Nice video!
love firetiger!
@@MattStefanFishing nobody talks about that color, but It is one the best. For about 25 years the shad rap 7 in fire tiger was my number one balsa Bass lure here in the south Brazil.
I absolutely agree. Jerkbait chat&blue back 😊
awesome!
Your Goldilocks is money, since you first ever talked about it I've tied a few and made some of my own chatterbaits with gold blades out of that color and done really well with it
i love it!
100% agree on the chartreuse. I like to put a little subtle chart on my swimbait tails.. usually just the edge but sometimes I'll color up the flat back of the paddle tail.
BTW.. Nice write up in the "Ned Fed" article in "In-Fisherman Magazine 👍👍
thanks!
Chartreuse is my favorite plastics dye, but like the orange as well. Thanks for sharing!!
both work!
When I began bass fishing in the early 70's, and then on through the 80's and 90's, the majority of our fishing was done with traditional spinnerbaits, and we typically threw 2 colors: black or chartreuse. When green pumpkin became the rage, I've thrown it consistently, but probably should go back to chartreuse occasionally.
good colors
Absolutely agree 100%! Been fishing Chartruese for almost 40 years and I can almost always guarantee it will catch the bigger or biggest fish of the day. From spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and especially jerkbaits. My PM smallie is on a discontinued Berkley Cutter 110+ in chartruese belly with a clear transparent body and blue to purple back like the Stunna you showed. Killer colour in clear water or lightly stained. Love a chartruese ned head as well. Will always have chartruese tied and in my tackle line up 4 life! Haha. 😂
chartreuse can be so good!
Chartreuse is the best!! Started painting crankbaits a couple of years ago. Took a clear blank, based just a bit of pear white. Electric blue on the back, chartreuse on the belly around front hook hanger, and chartreuse stripes down the sides. Been catching a bunch on it!
That is awesome!
Here in the great lakes, chartreuse and black is my all time favorite color combo.
thanks!
I’ve always used chartreuse in my color selections and I keep the Spike-It pens in all of their colors but I have extra chartreuse colored pens, to dap up a plastic tail,or fins,or belly😜 watched the Elite tournament on Lake Murray, and a chartreuse fluke and a chartreuse Rizer bait was used by half the top 10😜 they got some drone shots that were the kind you’ll see in commercials for a few years 😜
not surprising!
On the IL River chartreuse is a main stay, all my hard baits/skirted baits have chartreuse on them.
its so good on rivers!
That color in the thumbnail is very good for trout. I wouldn't lie to you. I must say the Elegy color is supreme, but who am kidding?
its a great color
It's a must for smallmouth bass they love chartreuse
fact!
I use a Ned rig with Chartreuse as one of two colors.😊
howd it work?
Probably 99% of the time I dip the tail of all my soft plastics in that spike it die... it's a confidence thing for me I don't know if it's the color of sent but it works. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
awesome!
My favorite color for any lure is green pumpkin but chartuce is great
Good choice!
I paint a black and yellow square bill. It's all killer for all species. Last time out cought a wipper bass dog fish northern and a gar.
great color!
My PB, 8 lbs largemouth, was caught 30 years ago on Hank Parker Classic Spinnerbait (chartreuse) it is back on the market.
Awesome!
I love Chartreuse and white swim jigs, spinnerbaits Chatterbaits and crank baits! They just get bit!
yes they do!
great video. I think it works well with Northern Pike up in your area WI/MN.
yes it does!
I have a garlic chartreuse pen I color tails of swimbaits a lot and sometimes the whole underside and all and also tips of craw style baits
awesome!
Thanks Matt. I've seen it work 1st hand
You bet!
🍺Hank finished in 10th and is 71 overall. That’s great. Let him know that I have been told that Dakota Ebare will not be fishing in the next 2 tournaments. I picked Villa once and Wheeler once this year and they didn’t even fish 👎.
thanks for the head's up! Hank had villa at the first one on rayburn and that burned him.
Thanks Matt , They are a must ( All year ).
agreed
Matt, agree 1000% with your assessment of chartreuse being an attracting color for bass. Back in the 80's, Bomber had a color called DFY which stands for dull faded yellow. It was popular in their 6A, 7A and 9A crankbaits. We had great success with it on the lower Arkansas River, especially when it was murky as it normally was. Don't know if Bomber is still in business or if they still make the A series of crankbaits or even that color. It was very close to chartreuse except as the name implies faded. Over half my cranks are chartreuse, the other half Always enjoy your videos.
love it!
Tackle warehouse has bomber crankbaits.
Great info Matt! Thank you!
thanks!
I agree. Lost my guilty pleasure core tackle swim jig yesterday and I was so mad about it. And somehow when I ordered them all I did not get a Goldilocks so KBR website again I'm off to go. And I really love the looks of an agent e with the tail dipped in chartreuse. Always have to have a bottle or marker of chartreuse dye
i love both of those!
for sure, chartruese is a great color on a variety of baits.
agreed
I 100% agree. For Lake Erie walleye, that's the color I fish 90% of the time. It does well in the muddy water. The only time it doesn't work so well for me is in clear water. For some reason, I do better with more natural colors.
awesome
Chartreuse is an absolute staple color for sure
yep!
Hey Matt, I just picked up two of those stunnas in the shad fillet pattern. Can't wait to try them. They just look good. Thanks for the video.
Glad you like them!
Chartreuse crank baits at night here in AZ are hard to beat.
thanks for the tip!
I always put a little of sunshine ( chartreuse ) on the tail of most of my soft plastics. Unless the fish tells me different.
sounds good
Chartreuse has been a staple in the saltwater world for ages.
yep!
Here in IL I throw a lot of chartreuse. Solid or chartreuse/white, chartreuse/black. My favorite rapala patterns are clown and chartreuse with silver sides.
awesome!
Strike king red eye shad spinner bait.. Culprid 10 " worm. Fluke from bass assassin... And strike king rage craw in watermelon red dipped in chartreuse spike it.. O ya this is a killer
all winners
Great advice, as always. Is there an amount of water clarity where it becomes “too clear” to be effective?
Not that I know of
If you think about it, the belly of a yellow perch is basically chartreuse. Also a sunfish is somewhat close
Chartreuse Flicker Shads work great for walleye in Canada in stained water
yep!
Solid color choice across presentations for sure. Are there times when you go hot red, orange or even blue vs chartreuse?
ill mess around with all of them
Firetiger with chartreuse can be dynamite too.
agreed
Matt killed them a few weeks ago with a chartreuse and black square bill granted they were biting that day.. my buddy was like what does that even represent? I think its the contrast thathelps it stand out in dirty water,i smash with a chartreuse and white spinnerbait
just makes them mad!
The jerkbait is a really good color to throw, has been a good bait to catch fish
yes it is
For me "Green Pumpkin w/red/black flakes " for plastics .. Hard baits silver w /black or blue back .. both pretty much equal ..
good colors as well
6" Yum Dinger with Chartreuse tip
Thanks for sharing
What are your thoughts on using a red hook for flukes and Texas Rig plastics
i like red hooks
when I want something to look chartreuse underwater, I throw white.
just because chartruese appears white first underwater at certain depths doesnt mean the fish cant depict the chartreuse.
Agreed 👍
thanks!
Chartreuse blk back square bill and a 3/8 GP flipping jig with a 3" GP chigger craw with the tips dipped in Chartreuse dye is what got it done for me Friday and today.
awesome!
Thank you . When are you going to get more core tackle hats in?
What trailer do you run on goldy locks
Pearl colored Berkley grass pig or a reaction innovation skinny dipper
If it ain’t chartreuse, it ain’t no use. Can’t remember who said that, but it’s totally true haha
haha
Hey Matt....where are you getting your tinsel for you jigs???
its called flashabou and you can buy it at fly tying shops
@@MattStefanFishing 👍
100 percent yes!
thanks!
Love anything chartreuse!!! Thanks, Matt!!
me too!
Never caught anything off it.
bummer!
KILLER KOLER
yep!
nice
Thanks
If it ain’t chartreuse, it ain’t no use! Lmao gotta have chartreuse
haha
I mean we are all a little crazy
yep!
Doing it since 1988 no you are not totally crazy just semi!😂
haha
Hey Matt: Chartreuse single tail 4" grubs by Strike King and Berkley have caught lots of shallow smallmouth bass for me (using a 1/0 or 2/0 EWG).
Sounds great!
👍👍👍👍👍
thanks for watching!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
thanks for watching!
🍺Perhaps I’m missing out but I personally do not have any chartreuse colored baits of any kind other than some yellow on my vision 110’s🤷♂️.
you should try some chartreuse!
🍺I personally struggle with changing colors when I’m catching fish on other colors. I have a tendency to change bait types /presentations altogether before I keep the same bait on but change its color.🤠
Chartreuse. Pearl blue green back.
Good one
Clown X-rap!
good one!
