I'm with this guy about society sucks. First the stores don't sell favorite things that I like anymore, second there is lots of bad in society like annoying people make me repeat what I said more than 100 times, then there is tons of places that went out of business resulting those people that had jobs become homeless, the society is so boring that I want to stay home instead of going out and finally I lost tons of money due to people make me pay the price even when I didn't do anything. Society sucks so badly that I wish I lived in a dead society instead of a living one.
Everything has gotten worse. Everything!!! He is right. No respect or values anymore. No one talks to each other face to face. Everyone glued to their phone screens. Music and movies suck. Clothing quality is not as good as before. Food the same. And being the avid fragrance collector that I am, I can also say fragrances back in the day were really nice and strong and now they disappear before you know it. Nowadays people get offended by anything when before it was not like that. I am glad that I had the good fortune of growing up in the eighties and at least having great memories to look back on

When someone gives me socks for Christmas, I thank them, and move on. I don't whine about how I wanted this that or the other thing, I just say "Thank you" and move on.

Well observed, ckn! As I have to deal with adolescent and youth defendants in my day job, I experience the loss of common sense very often. It usually goes along with alcoholism and a party mentality without any regards for their own health or, even worse, the health and needs of others. But I still don't want to focus on the negative sides. There are still examples of individuals who are able to learn from their mistakes. And for those, it's worth to carry on.
I was born in 1989 and I missed all of the 80s except for 1989 and I lived through the 90s, the 2000s, and now I'm living in the late 2010s. I feel sorry for people who were born after the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

We are a very classist society with very corrupt judicial and social systems and we are all living in a state of total codependence and we can't breathe. We are being smothered by regulation and obligation and duties and we can't get no relief. The owners of the newspapers are friends with the judges who are in bed with insurance companies that are owned by attorneys and politicians that are friends with the owners of hospitals and which provide malpractice insurance to doctors, and one way or another, strings are pulled to keep you down or kill you if you are ever in conflict with those on top of the power structures. It's a plantation that nobody can see, and the name of the game is to scam the bottom to feed the top. We are not living in an honest society. And nobody has the wisdom to know right from wrong, proper from improper, wholesome from unwholesome good from evil. People have been reduced to feelings and desires. I'm 7 years older than you, and most of the films and music I like was made before I was born. So when I say "Remember when that shit was good?", I actually don't remember it; I remember when I discovered it. And what you mentioned about things becoming "vintage" after 25 years or so? Well, I think the only people who'll be able to regard today's music as good vintage stuff, 25 years from now, are going to be people who've NEVER been exposed to classic pop and rock at all. For me, "good music" died with the birth of the Internet. Which is ironic, considering how readily available EVERYTHING is nowadays. But the problem is that, with the Internet (and social media in particular), every untalented and lazy mediocre scumbag is using the Internet to get easy fame, without earning their dues like people used to have to do for years. And since every other young idiot wants to be famous these days, and they all have access to the Internet, this means that the world has become over-saturated with impossibly shit music. Kids grow up these days, exposed to nothing but this shit. And since there's so much of it, and not enough hours in a day to bother finding something REALLY good, they just don't bother. So even though each new generation tends to rebel against their parents' music, I think that, for those of us who were lucky to come of age in the 90s, we're probably the last generation who'll be able to look back at truly good and real "vintage" music in the future. But we also have a love and appreciation for the music that came way before our time, which is a concept that is sadly mostly dead to the snotty brats growing up today.
Your manners argument reminded me of one time I held a door open at the end of an assembly in middle school. Out of the 500 people that passed, three said thanks; my two best friends an one teacher.

However maybe I'm alone in this but I always found it a little annoying when I sneeze and somebody says "bless you" to me. It tends to really bother me when people have "dreams" of some kid of career, but either don't realize, AND/OR aren't even enlightened by parents/guardians (why the fuck not even by teachers/college professors?) of exactly: 1) what kind of day-to-day work and effort the career is going to require and what kinds of things they are going to have to do or avoid doing, what kinds of habits they'll need to develop/break, priorities etc. 2) how much money they are going to need to have ready in order to get into college and obtain the education required for the career and 3) what kinds of attitude/behavior they will need to sustain. Then people (namely young adults) get lured into traps where they are forced to claw their ways out of owed loans, and/or get the job, get slammed with unforseen real-world work, and most of the time instead of actually even trying to doing their job, just sit around bitching and whining all out making it harder for other workers. The kinds of people who I tend to hate the most lately are people who literally fuck their way up the ladder and/or have those higher-up positions however they mistakenly got them and do nothing but fuck around, laze around and just bitch workers out telling them to pick up the pace and just let the workers suffer from working as hard as they possibly can when they get slammed with business, when those higher-ups SHOULD, at least with manual labor, be helping out the lower-downs when the lower-downs are literally fuckin hurting and are unarguably given on their plates surely more than they can chew. The common courtesy thing is what gets me the most. I am just flabbergasted at how rude most of the population is in America these days. I would never even dream of not thanking someone for holding a door open for me. I would never dream of not thanking a store clerk who sold me something. I would never walk into a crosswalk without first making sure I won't be inconveniencing some driver. So many people don't give a shit about strangers whatsoever and they make me sick.

In either case, saying that just means you haven't explored enough. There are still plenty of interesting games being made, it's that the blockbuster titles tend to be very similar. Same can be said for movies. And there's definitely still a massive variety of excellent music out there; if you've been following CKN for any length of time now, you should know that. It's the shit they play on the radio that all sounds the same, but if you look deeper there are all sorts of great bands out there.
This is not just me trying to bitch, but society is the reason why I still take happy pills. Otherwise, I cannot go through a day without flipping my shit at the fucking world. I gave up trying to be nice to random people and showing common courtesy a while ago. I tried, don't think I'm just an inconsiderate ass hole, I really tried with people but I basically have been pissed on just for trying to be a descent human being.
Even worse is that sexism doesn't really include that many laws, but how people are treating to opposing sex. I think that entitlement is a big problem too.

Also if you're at the grocery store or the department store and there's only one check out line open and you have a whole cart full of stuff and the person behind you just has one or two things, then the courteous thing to do is to let that person go ahead. I've dealt with people who weren't courteous in that regard and I had to wait a fucking eternity for them to have all their stuff rang up when all I was just getting was a couple items!
When a person goes out of their way to do something nice for you, definitely say "thank you." But getting upset if nobody says "bless you" after sneezing? that is pretty trivial to me. One thing I'd add is how thin skinned a lot of people are. People need to realize that they do have a right to be offended by things these days. And nobody needs to curtail their speech just because it upsets you. Political correctness is ruining this place.
Also there's the argument that there have always been shitty games/movies/music, even in the vintage days. It's just that we only remember the ones that stood the test of time, so naturally people are going to the think everything was better back then, when in reality we've just forgotten about the things that were...well, forgettable.

It's great video, something that I don't like in today's society in my opinion is how many people in our society have to defend famous people like if they where part of their family or their god, meanwhile they don't even know that they exist, and they enjoying their famous life, and money, and it doesn't worth, and the worst part is that if you talk something negative, the people get crazy, and starts calling you a lot of Shit, I am not some anti famous, but it's just my point of view and what I see almost every day, and I was that kind of person, I just open my eyes but we all have to know that we are all humans, and support more the people who has everything don't gonna change nothing in your life, you just support others that has more than you, than you suppose to do to yourself, or others people want to become something in their life's.

The reason why people say it is because in the past, people could die from sneezing as there was no vaccine to cure it and people were dying from it so thats why they say bless you

I agree about the lack of manners among especially young people and in certain areas. However maybe I'm alone in this but I always found it a little annoying when I sneeze and somebody says "bless you" to me. I know they're just trying to be nice but its just a sneeze people, I don't need any medical attention nor even acknowledgement of my minor bodily malfunctions. Its just calling attention to something that doesn't matter as if I'm having a problem.

i completely disagree with point #4. i happen to hold doors open for other people quite often. i hardly ever get a "thank you" for it and i really, really dont want one. saying it would just be a meaningless, hollow thing and you'll forget it in a few seconds.
also, if i sneeze and someone says "gesundheit" (i actually live in germany) it just annoys me. i always think "WHY do you have to say it? it doesn't help anyone. just ignore it..."

Your right man ,nobody has courtesy like when i was a kid,i learned and its installed in my brain I say thank you when i buy a beer, or hold the door open for the people behind me going in or out of a store.I get it.
It tends to really bother me when people have "dreams" of some kid of career, but either don't realize, AND/OR aren't even enlightened by parents/guardians (why the fuck not even by teachers/college professors?) of exactly:
1) what kind of day-to-day work and effort the career is going to require and what kinds of things they are going to have to do or avoid doing, what kinds of habits they'll need to develop/break, priorities etc.
2) how much money they are going to need to have ready in order to get into college and obtain the education required for the career
and 3) what kinds of attitude/behavior they will need to sustain.
Then people (namely young adults) get lured into traps where they are forced to claw their ways out of owed loans, and/or get the job, get slammed with unforseen real-world work, and most of the time instead of actually even trying to doing their job, just sit around bitching and whining all out making it harder for other workers.
The kinds of people who I tend to hate the most lately are people who literally fuck their way up the ladder and/or have those higher-up positions however they mistakenly got them and do nothing but fuck around, laze around and just bitch workers out telling them to pick up the pace and just let the workers suffer from working as hard as they possibly can when they get slammed with business, when those higher-ups SHOULD, at least with manual labor, be helping out the lower-downs when the lower-downs are literally fuckin hurting and are unarguably given on their plates surely more than they can chew. To those kinds of people up the ladder: ROT IN HELL

The common courtesy thing is what gets me the most. I am just flabbergasted at how rude most of the population is in America these days. I would never even dream of not thanking someone for holding a door open for me. I would never dream of not thanking a store clerk who sold me something. I would never walk into a crosswalk without first making sure I won't be inconveniencing some driver. So many people don't give a shit about strangers whatsoever and they make me sick.

In either case, saying that just means you haven't explored enough. There are still plenty of interesting games being made, it's that the blockbuster titles tend to be very similar. Same can be said for movies. And there's definitely still a massive variety of excellent music out there; if you've been following CKN for any length of time now, you should know that. It's the shit they play on the radio that all sounds the same, but if you look deeper there are all sorts of great bands out there.

This is not just me trying to bitch, but society is the reason why I still take happy pills. Otherwise, I cannot go through a day without flipping my shit at the fucking world. I gave up trying to be nice to random people and showing common courtesy a while ago. I tried, don't think I'm just an inconsiderate ass hole, I really tried with people but I basically have been pissed on just for trying to be a descent human being.
Even worse is that sexism doesn't really include that many laws, but how people are treating to opposing sex. I think that entitlement is a big problem too.

Also if you're at the grocery store or the department store and there's only one check out line open and you have a whole cart full of stuff and the person behind you just has one or two things, then the courteous thing to do is to let that person go ahead. I've dealt with people who weren't courteous in that regard and I had to wait a fucking eternity for them to have all their stuff rang up when all I was just getting was a couple items!
When a person goes out of their way to do something nice for you, definitely say "thank you." But getting upset if nobody says "bless you" after sneezing? that is pretty trivial to me. One thing I'd add is how thin skinned a lot of people are. People need to realize that they do have a right to be offended by things these days. And nobody needs to curtail their speech just because it upsets you. Political correctness is ruining this place.
