It depends on what form of transportation you take. If you take the Catalina express, it will be a little under an hour. If you take a helicopter, it will be a little under 20 minutes.

I've done this trip out of Long Beach to Avalon. Everyone should visit Catalina Island at least one time

This boat is most likely to be either the Jet Cat Express, Catalina Jet, or the Starship Express.
