The Cambridge is "hi-fi". It will drive my JBL Studio monitors, Philharmonic Minitors an Monitor Audio Silvef 8z to serious levels with great clarity. Adding a descent DAC adds to thr joy. Even the Maggie LRSs sounded just fine at reasonable levels....with my sub added. The law of dimishing returns comes in quickly with many of today's reasonable priced audio gear.
This is all budget gear. “Only 5” is a ridiculous claim when there’s nothing even mid-fi here. The AXR100 is a fine product but it’s hardly hifi nor is it sold as such by Cambridge. This is all basic consumer big box store stuff.
