Thanks for the comment. That's a totally fair question. I should have said that this was one way to do it. CF tunnels was just coming on scene and honestly, I didn't know too much about it but I knew how to do this. Also, at the time, hosting your media server over Cloudflare Tunnels was a breach of their Terms of Service. But all of that has changed. For full transparency, I've switched to using Cloudflare Tunnels and stopped using NPM. As a matter of fact, I'm actually using both Cloudflare Tunnels and slowly moving things on to my own Tailscale network. Awesome project.
this is a great video! unfortunately I get a 504 error when I go to my domain, anyone else running into this issue? I can access the site locally just fine
Hi , Cloudflare gives me SSL connection . why should I put certificate ? I have Nextcloud also have certificate i directed my tunnel to https (No tls ) not http and worked fine . other services when I do tunnel for it i do http . and I recieve https connection . tbh i dunno how Nginx worked for me . I made it run on separate network . it was giving me Bad getaway err. Do you recommend me to use Nginx or no ? because im running multiple tunnels and everything fine now . and Thanks for the video
HI, I am getting an error when attempting to connect to NextCloud. I get the page that tells me "Access through untrusted domain" hopin you might have a fix.
Hi there, Mike. For Nextcloud, you're going to have to add the domain name you're using to the config.php file. Take a look at the docs here (docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/installation/installation_wizard.html#trusted-domains)
Hi there! Thanks for watching. The 522 errors are server side errors. I would verify that you are able to access the app locally with the IP address and port assigned to that app, and then go from there. If you're able to access it locally, verify that you are using the correct protocol in NGINX Proxy Manager (http instead of https or vice versa).
Please help! haha. I have followed everything to a T and am having a few issues. Locally I can click the weblink in nginx and it opens my Nextcloud (But still with a big Red warning, not sure why as I have added the certs as far as I can tell). Then when I try from my 5G phone the page turns the same Red and when I click to continue still it says This site can't be reached and it shows the my local ip. I dont get where I am messing up! haha. I have been working on this a few days and your video helped a lot but I continue to be missing something somewhere. I did forward my http and https ports to the nginx location. Thanks for any help you might have. I feel like I'm on a mission now just to get it working. LOL Cheers - Jason
I feel like my nginx is not getting over to my nextcloud address? When I try with a cert created in nginx and I run the test it errors out with the "API failed. Is NPM running correctly". Using the Cloudflare assigned cert still gives me the big Red warning too....Man, this is tough! ha Thanks, if you're reading these still. I know I'm a few months short.
Great video, it was very easy to follow, thanks!!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
I use npm and cf for my next cloud instance. Rock solid.
Thanks for posting!
I agree. As long as you don't mind opening up those ports, it's a great solution and just works. Thanks for your comment!
Great video. The turn of force ssl on Nextcloud really saved me.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this. Do you plan on doing a Tailscale tutorial as well? I read that you have been moving over to Tailscale.
Windows Key > Ease of access settings > Audio > turn on mono audio
Why CF and NPM ? Why not just use CF Tunnel and achieve the same ? Any cons ? With that no ports need to be exposed .
