Seijo won the Spring High School Volleyball Tournament, the Inter-High School Championships, and the National Sports Festival for two consecutive years in 2013 and 2014. They have won 99 consecutive official matches. This record has not yet been broken.

Look at the packed arena for this high school game! In addition to Ishikawa's talent at this age, I was impressed with the defensive play by both teams.

well yuki ishikawa in highschool and college is like lebron james when he was still young. he already famous even every game that he played the arena will always packed. even there is one moment that some match had to be posponed and held without attendance because ishikawa fans (especially girl) is crazy for him.

Looks like nationals (Haruko). This is the "piniacle" tournament of high school volleyball in Japan.
That said, I would guess most of the regional prelims are pretty packed as well. ❤ (check out the recent Kyoto prelim, it was a great game, and that was just the Haruko qualifier)

@@monkut Thank you for the information. That's great that high school boys volleyball is so popular in Japan. High School boys volleyball doesn't seem to be so popular in the US where most schools don't even offer it as a team sport. Boys club volleyball certainly is not in as much demand as the girls' counterpart.

      Yuki Ishikawa 石川祐希
born 11 December 1995) is a Japanese male professional volleyball player from Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture.
Ishikawa is the first volleyball player to have a wax figure in Japan.[1] Currently, his wax figure is displayed at Madame Tussauds Tokyo.[2]
Ishikawa was named "Best Outside Spiker" award at the FIVB World Cup (2015, 2019), Asian Championship (2017, 2019, 2021), as well as "Most Valuable Player" award at the Asian Championship (2017).
As of April 2021, Ishikawa is the captain of the Japan men's national volleyball team, and plays as an outside hitter. He currently plays in the Italian Volleyball League for Allianz Milano.
After graduating from university in March 2018, Ishikawa signed his first professional contract with the Italian team Emma Villas Siena (The club was ranked up to the Italian Volleyball League in 2018-2019 season).[10] He moved to Kioene Padova in the next season.[11] He changed club again in 2020, to Allianz Milano.[12] Then, he extended his contract in the 2021-2022 season,[13] and continued to stay with the club for the 2022-2023 season.
In 2021, Ishikawa became the captain of the Japan men's national volleyball team,[28] and was assigned to lead the team at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.[29] The Japanese team finished in 7th place after losing to the Brazil team with a set count 0-3 in the quarterfinals.[30] In September 2021, he led the team to win the silver medal at the 2021 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, and won the "Best Outside Spiker" award as a captain of the senior national team.
