Thank you!! And good eye! Yes I’m loving that location for the phone mount. When is your 2023 coming in!? Looking forward to hearing about your first thoughts on it!
@@Hansaman58 Haha sorry for the delayed response! But yes the quad lock works great! I'm working on a mod to get the usb input slot transferred closer to that mount (just below the e-brake) so that I can hide wires easier!
Hi! Thanks for watching my video and for the comment! Yes I needed the 12V outlet for my light bar but may add a USB C outlet in the future as my passengers always need to charge their phone haha
@themandiyrin I managed to install it over the weekend using your video and using the same t-tap connector you are using. Unfortunately, mine stopped working yesterday. I guess due to vibration... so I ended up removed the t tap and soldered it instead. Now solid and working again. :)
Nice vid, shows every step so clearly... thank you. Any idea if it's possible to add two additional outlets in the rear area (run from the same center console source)? Was thinking of one 12v socket like you installed here, plus another with a Usb-c socket in the same form factor
Thanks for watching my video and for the kind words! Appreciate it! In regards to your question, I haven't personally tried it but I don't see why that's not possible. Since each of the new added accessory will have their own fuses, I see this as a no issue! Maybe I'll install one as well! I know I've had some request to have the 400Watt plug installed on the interior so might try that myself!
Hi thank you for watching my video! Yes that is one of the next videos I'm installing! One of my fears is waking up to my catalytic converter being stolen also!
!FIRE HAZARD! DO NOT DO THIS! Two problems... 1) Tapping into a line with a 10A/15A fuse with a 30A outlet 😂 does not work. Sure, my 300W inverter will power on. It just won't max out. It will likely blow the fuse in the engine bay. 2) Tapping into the original console outlet's much smaller gauge wire WILL be a fire hazard. It's great at 10A, not 30A draw. Not even 20A. This needs to be homerun to the fuse box or battery. NOTE: With power, only figure having 80% of whatever the rating is; 30A * 12V = 360W * 80% = 288W usable. Constantly going over 80% is somewhere between a shortened life span of the electronics to a fire.
Hi thanks for watching my video and for your comments. I appreciate the knowledge and will look into your points. Luckily, I've been using this for over a year and the phone charges as quick as it's plugged in my outlet wall (i.e., it doesn't just turn on, it actually charges). In the year since my install, I also have not noticed any effects on the device itself and have not blown the fuse once (note that this truck is my daily driver and used a lot). I could try to wire it through my battery when I do my next accessory install to avoid potential issues you're mentioning. I also have seen similar installs with a lot of other Tacoma channels so I'm wondering what their experience is.
after seeing him tap into the usb wires... i came looking for someone mentioning this issue in the comments. I'd pulll 5-10amps such as charging a phone or a radar detector, but not gonna even think about pulling 360-400w through it.
Excellent video! And I noticed a Quadlock phone mount on the E Brake handle. Brilliant!

Truck supposed to arrive by 3 Dec but we shall see.
What Quadlock mount is that specifically please? For cycling? Thank you.
Ha. Figured out the mount. Brilliant option.

Cool! Interesting twist on this install you went with a 12V outlet. I went with a 12V USB C outlet. 🤙🏾

Awesome job Marc.
Videos are organized and helpful.
Thank you Richard for watching my video and the kind words! Appreciate it!
Haha this will help avoid phone charging fights 😂
Yes agree! It can get quite annoying running cords from the centre panel also, so this helps!
🛠 Question of the day: Where have you added power sources on your Tacoma⁉
👍I need to do this, very well explained step-by-step directions
Thank you! Yes it’s a great added benefit to the rear passengers too. I might add more in the future (maybe a plug or USB option). Cheers!
Nice. I was about doing it next week, but with two usb ports and "boom" you beat me to it. Again another useful mod. 👌
Hi thanks for watching my video again! And haha great minds think alike! Good luck on your install!

Can you make a video about installing catalytic converter shields? Especially when tacoma's cats are being stolen more recently!
Hi thank you for watching my video! Yes that is one of the next videos I'm installing! One of my fears is waking up to my catalytic converter being stolen also!
I was so hoping this was a household style plug install.
Thanks for watching! Sorry unfortunately not! But I can most definitely do another video on that! I'll do a 400W house plug install next.
Why not just do a Guild outfitters 400w anytime with an outlet mod? Still a great addition though. 👍
Will consider it for future installs! Thanks for the suggestion and watching my videos!
Hey what is the button thing on your emergency brake?
Haha good eye! It's a wireless phone charger and mount. I have a video on the install coming up!
@@themandiyrin oh okay cool! I was hoping you rewired the ECT button to an easier location! Lol. Still would like to do that myself
@@darrenb5538 thank for the reply! I did rewire the ECT to be on the shift knob using MESO stealth custom knob. I’ll link the video below!

those back seat floors are far too clean, there's no dust! I didn't even see a single cheerio!
Haha what can I say, people from the Transcona area knows how to get rid of garbage efficiently.
Always on would have been way better
Might change it to that eventually
So you're connecting heavier gauge wires into lighter gauge wires . . . . ok. That's not troubling at all.
