I watch your videos weekly - but didn't even open that video about the vlogging camera, because I'm not interested in vlogs.

Me too! About three weeks ago, I watched two "help" videos in a row, and ever since then, the videos just show up in my feed, and I watch them.
It's so cool that you're drinking oat milk and that you have an old-school percolator! I'm just having hot, black coffee. 🙂🙂

Heyyy bestie. I found this one so much more authentic than your normal help content. It feels like so much of your personality came through, and that you genuinely care about your community. It’s super nice to see, so I appreciate the risk of trying new things!
This video was also super helpful, especially for my channel as a small creator. Now to implement that information and see if it works on our page. Catch you on the next one!

Ohh hey hey! I agree with many others, I loved this laid back "coffee with Katie" video. Actually felt like we are friends and catching up. I'm really new to the YT thing and will say this was refreshing to hear to test things out and not be afraid of having something not do well.

This video was so helpful. I've recently switched the niche of my channel (which was almost impossible, but I did it!) and I started seeing results with creating informational-based videos for new subscribers. I immediately thought "should my channel be information-based?" and you just answered that question for me. It's good for now to build a base, but it's better to balance it with videos that show more of my personality and life. Thank you for all your help Katie!

Hey! I'm one of the besties that watched until the end! I actually found your channel through your Instagram videos, and now I don't even use Instagram anymore or have a TH-cam channel, but I just like to watch your videos and see what you're up to and thinking about as a fellow creator. The best types of videos are the ones you enjoy making the most (your energy really does come through the screen), so I hope you keep making them as long as they excite you!

  • @DarkBlueNutrition

I resonate so much with your struggle and “mistake” in TH-cam growth in this video. Especially if you’ve been on TH-cam for a while (which I’ve been making content relatively consistently for 5 years now) - I think it can be easy to start to get discouraged and really focus on “okay what’s going to really perform well for me? What does the algorithm want so I can finally blow up and grow my business?” - and it goes from focusing on helping others, to “okay how do I finally break out of this shell??!” - which is more self-focused. I’m guilty of this for sure 🙋‍♀️
I’ve been binging your content and honestly I love your approach to TH-cam. It’s reminding me to re-engage with my reasons for starting a TH-cam channel in the first place. And also - the “permission” to try out all types of content, regardless of how it will perform and whether or not it’s search based is liberating. I’ve been holding back certain videos because I’m too caught up in growth… when in reality, I think my core audience will really appreciate it.
Any way… excuse the insanely long message. I haven’t commented on all the videos I’ve watched so I thought I’d make up for it 😂 Keep up the great content! From one Katie to another 🥰

I don’t even know how I found you (other than the amazing TH-cam gods 😂) but i couldn’t be more grateful! I’ve been uploading for almost a year and I sorta got in slump/busy over the last month and was t nearly as consistent as I had been in the winter. somehow came across your help/hub/hero video and LOVED the format, I immediately got the creator bug and made a super productive schedule based on that model that, so far, has really helped me keep up with my video uploads as well as plan for future ideas. I’m enjoyed binging your channel and I find your tips/knowledge extremely valuable. I love how it’s can be super helpful/relatable despite being a completely different niche. Thanks for all the work you put into your videos!! They are amazing!!

    @RozeinItaly ปีที่แล้ว

Hey, I love your channel and this style of video! I'm actually about to start my own channel and I've gotten so many useful tips from your videos. I've been doing well on TikTok but the time limit/structure has been pretty limiting for me and I think I'm more suited to long-form style videos. I'm nervous because so many YT videos have such an awesome/advanced production level (especially compared to TikTok videos); it's all overwhelming, but watching you do a more simple coffee chat like this gives me more confidence to just go for it.
I think your success really comes down to your personality as well as the content/storytelling (at least that's what keeps me watching), so take it from a new(ish) subscriber, go with your instincts and keep rocking it! Thanks for all your amazing content!

  • @LisaSonora

Yesss-so grateful for the intellectual layer you bring to your content by sharing your perspective on topics. *Thought Leader* I loved following your train of thoughts in this video as you made the connection between the value in showing up authentically and building relationships as well as demonstrating with data that sharing original, 'hub' content that nurtures your community can lead to growth. A win-win & positive feedback loop, be yourself-->live more in alignment -->improve your wellness-->vibrate in a higher frequency -->glow & attract others with similar frequency-->cultivate community-->community supports your most authentic self! Thank you for the inspiring share! I am a home birth midwife in Northern California inspired by your content and excited to cultivate a community. Yes do what makes you happy-make more vlogs/thought leader vibes

Hey Katie, I really like your videos. Such great content and just like you as a creator. I am a German expat living in France and renovating half a chateau there. I've been on my TH-cam journey since this year and it's been quite the thing and trying lots of things and I think slowly I might have found where I want to go with it and also just the language of my channel since I speak 4 languages daily and I kind of didn't know in which one I should make a channel, decided for English now. Keep making great content! Lots of love from rural France, Amadeus

☘ Love the coffee talk format! And totally agree with you on building more relational-based content. It's something I continue to work on. I prefer the idea of someone being bought into me and my personality so they'll keep returning, rather than a one-off view. A video with lots of views is really no good to me if none of those people return.

I definitely fall into the category of having done lots of “searchable” content and stuff that outsiders will click on and I’ve also over prioritised viewer retention my videos have become really short and concise. But I’m starting to bring vlogs and longer videos back in. This has been really helpful thank you ❤
Also I see it with your content. I definitely found you via search and only watched your content when I needed a quick tutorial or help with something. But since you started doing more content like this I’m a regular viewer and love seeing your personality

Heyyy... yep, I do appreciate the variety in your content, and these more chatty--with a purpose, style of vids.
I'm a digital mktg strategist who has been neglecting my own biz as I help others. I am just branching into TH-cam. I absolutely get how to do the "help" style vids, as I'm a teacher at heart. I haven't quite figured out what my "hub" content will look like, nor how to become consistent with TH-cam. I have systems and workfliws in place for my podcast, but I'm now figuring out how to add this new piece of the puzzle to my routine
    .
Thanks for taking us behind the scenes and sharing your experience and process. It is very helpful.
I would love to see you discuss community building strategy and what has and hasn't worked for you. I'm focusing on more engagement rather than just likes and subscribes, across all platforms. It's definitely harder to get the comments.
    Happy travels!

I am just going to experiement with finding a community of people who like the same things. I might branch out for a once in a while LIVE chat session. Who knows? I believe in what I used to post, that if I try again and market it differently with more energy at the same time more casual I may find my tribe. I too started my channel focusing on search, and it was a very long and slow process to get the views and subscribers, and to this day I am still not monetized. BUT, I recently removed a significant amount of content so my channel is more focused on one topic, and I'll be incorporating more personal / hub content as well as content for the Home Page and I have faith that it will grow as it should now. Hi Katie, thank you for introducing me to the Help, Hub, Hero-system! After a year of doing YT I'm finally being consistent and you have pushed me to start thinking outside of the Help-box. You've made me more confident in trying new forms of content. And while my recent Hub-video maybe didn't get the most clicks I've been getting such sweet comments and feedback from my core audience that I believe I might be onto something. Thank you, thank you! Rebekka from Germany

Heyyy Katie!! I love your channel and I’m watching you from Russia! I’m an English teacher dreaming of my own YT channel. I mostly post on IG now, so IG and YT content from you are the ones I watch most often. Hope this helps you get to know your audience better! ❤ thanks for your content

I love the coffee chats, would love to see more of that! Generally listening to your videos where you're just being you and being real is what i enjoy, been a regular viewer for a couple of months now and your advice really helps a lot to all niches of content creators. Keep it up queen!

thank you Tara!! I definitely wanna do a few more coffee chat style videos in the future :) it's sort of fun to switch between the more in depth videos with lots of b-roll, to more vloggy videos, and then stuff like this 🙏🏻

Hey Katie, I’ve watched you for a while now but first comment. I’m starting a TH-cam channel and am at that stage where I’ve done so much research and just need to start recording and uploading. I’m from London, UK.

I like this new coffee chat style, but because it's not your usual fast-paced scripted content I find myself tuning out in the middle. I'd be more hooked if it had a "this is how it made me feel" lens because it's still very...informational. hahahaha Excited for you to feel comfortable enough to try new things, that's always nice :)

Love this. I’m trying to create a cool and relaxed feel to our videos too. Right now we’re just learning how to film and edit. But we have been posting to for feedback as well. I think I’m going to change up a bit and do a more community focused approach. Mainly my wonderful fam is watching them. Great idea! I’ve never had a TH-cam star as a best friend 😉 looking forward to it. Best of luck.

Thanks for your sharing (as always) Which microphone did you use to record this video? I tried Micro Rode, but it does not sound so good as urs.. It sound like echo, when i stay 1 meter far from the camera. Thanks for ur response.
