PLEASE CONTINUE TO SHARE YOUR BEAUTIFUL SPARKLING PERSONALITY AND YOUR INCREDIBLE TALENT WITH US!!!! ❤🥰😍😘😍🥰❤️
Very nice! I like your coloring style very much. I think your color choices are very nice. You provide excellent educational information which is helpful to someone like me who want to produce better quality pages.
Loved this! And YESYESYES please consider maybe even doing a week long series of one per day of a page as that would be so great! I follow MANY popular channels in our community and I can attest to the fact that we only have a few channels being willing so far to commit to guiding us through a series and it’s kind of frustrating? Believe it or not, overthinkers like myself can somehow manage to overcomplicate these tiny little pieces with questions such as “should I use one limited palette apiece on each of the 6 small photos here or coordinate the whole page with one?” “And how the heck do I create tiny 2”backgrounds so my picture isn’t just floating in space?” 🤣 So YES PLEASE, I personally would be grateful for as many as you’re willing to record, as YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT TEACHER, and I don’t even care that we took 25 mins to color a 2” frog, I learn so much every time I follow along with you… so thanks!!! ❤ xoxo~ Michelle Michigan, USA🇺🇸
So gorgeous! I’ve asked for this book for Xmas and I would LOVE if you did more of these videos explaining your process of choosing the colours and completing one of these small drawings - I think I might copy some of your ideas when I get the book since I’m more of a beginner and never would have thought to add all those shades and contrasting colours to make such a small simple piece look so good :)
Love that little frog, I haven't used stickles yet but plan to especially after seeing how much they add to your coloring pages. Thank you for your videos, I learn something every time I watch one.
Oh, Pamela, I'm working right now in a Small Victories page! The cutest coloring book ever! Thank you for the video, your little frog is adorable. I appreciate your use of the color wheel, I never use it, now I'm planning to! 😊
Thank you for showing us how to color this pretty little frog. Yes, I would be more than happy to see you color more items in this book. I am off to do a flip-through to see all of the pictures in it. I have heard in several places that Amazon has been using an unknown third-party binder for many of our familiar, favorite books, so buyer beware. Out of my just received 5 books, I am having to return four of them, because a lot of the animals are cut off by 1 or more of the outer page edges, or tucked so far inside the binding in the middle of the book that the inner edge of the page cuts off the animal there. Out of an order of 5 books, 4 of them so far have to be returned for this reason. I am very upset, because I really liked 3 of them a lot. In another book besides them with 101 pictures of animals I liked a lot, 71 of the pictures were cut off in this manner on one or more edges of the page along with some pages also trapping part of the animal in the binding in the middle of the page. Even if the book were taken apart, there's no guarantee that all of the missing parts of the animal subject, would be found complete. In this one book, that's almost 75% of all of its pictures cut off. All these pictures were one-sided so if a person wanted to use markers, they wouldn't have to worry about bleed through onto the next picture with a piece of plastic placed between it and the next page. What a loss! One of the others was the first book that I ever bought in which I actually liked every page. Eash picture was also backed with plain pages to allow for markers. Amazon has several other books that I wanted to buy, but frankly I'm afraid to take the risk. This, when I haven't even had a chance to look at 4 other books I purchased about the same time I purchased the first group. I'm afraid to even look at them!
I just got this coloring book. I'm coloring fish with glitter pens and water-based markers. This is the first JB coloring book I have used. Bought a larger JB book for a Christmas present and decided to buy this small one. Paper is exceptional and I wonder if I could use Derwent inktense with it. Alert.....use the tester page for markers because they may bleed.❤😊
Thanks Pamela, what an adorable and sparkly frog 🐸. I may have to check out the Stickles listed on your channel. I hope you do more of these teaching small video "color alongs". I learn more from you when I can see and apply the ideas 💡 and techniques along with the video.
I love the look with the Stickles! We all have different likes and there is no wrong way. Totally unnecessary and rude comment. If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything.
Froggies are my favorite species to color!! Both this video and the one you did 2 years ago on coloring small objects in Johanna Basford's books could not have been more perfect for lessening my frustration as I tackled one of Johanna's larger pictures--with about 20 small objects in them!! They were driving me crazy!! So, I checked your videos--and lo and behold there were two that explained--so carefully and fully--just what each object needed to make it look 'right'!! Your videos are so perfect for increasing my learning curve! (Sometimes, it is so tough for me not to compare my efforts to others with more experience--like the completed pages that appear on your FB 'Gallery'! But I just keep listening and learning and watching--and slowly it's beginning to come together!!) Thank you for such wonderful Tutorials! Oh--and, yes---I've now got 8 new 'Stickles' to add the finishing touch! Lynn in NYC
Thank you so much. It is so hard to not compare yourself to others. I’m sure your coloring is beautiful! I’m so happy my tutorials have helped. Happy Holidays!
I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. I have learned so much from you. I appreciate your Facebook page, where members can share their work and ask questions
So pretty ❤ I think that small pictures are actually better for intermediate colorists. I find that being a beginner, like myself, it’s much easier to highlight and shadow in a larger space
Seeing this video for the 2nd time was very relaxing and enjoyable. I really liked the green color that you chose for the frog, and the purple on the large flower. I so appreciate your explaining what you were doing and why throughout, which is so helpful to those of us who are trying to learn to color. The finished picture was a very cheerful, bright spot on the page. Would it have created an overload if the 2nd large flower had also have been done in purple like the first. I just really liked that color.
Very pretty colors, I did find watching this tutorial a bit more difficult because of the blurriness but other than that excellent video. I was wary to get this book because of how tiny it it’s may need to rethink that after watching your video.
I was having so much fun watching this tutorial, but I had to trouble with the picture coming in and out of focus.i believe the problem was the page not staying flat. I did enjoy your use of the color wheel.
*sigh* I miss my colored pencils. Other than a set of Amazon Basics, all my pencils and coloring books are in a store room in my parents' house in anticipation of moving back there in a few months.
Dear Pamela, I respect you very much - in my eyes, you're one of the best colourists in our community. That said, I think this time you overdid it with the glitter and ruined your colouring. You did an excellent colouring job with depth and dimension and then sprayed glitter all over the frog and the plants. There was really no need to use this stuff in the first place. Let the colouring pencils speak - NOT the glitter. When glitter speaks, it is hollow talk, and you are better than that. Much much better. 😢
@gwenw4182 I feel like people are cranky after the holidays. A lot of criticism. If anybody has watched her for a while they should know she likes the glitter (stickles). On yours that you color, just don't do that part. I liked it. But I would've done less on the frog on mine. I wouldn't have complained about hers. I don't know why people are this way. Lol.
I think you did an awesome job and I also love glitter. Go for what makes YOU happy you will never please all of the people all of the time and you really don’t have to try.
I don't believe she was being sarcastic. I don't think she's even been sarcastic in a video before. If she didn't like the book she would just say it out loud, it's not like Johanna or anyone else is gonna sue her for having a negative opinion about it. And if she really didn't like it then why would she feel the need to make a video coloring in the book? There's a lot of other small objects, flowers, etc in Johanna's books and a lot of other books. Also, about the time she spent coloring, of course it's going to take longer if you don't want to make it look too basic, you need to put more effort into something to make it stand out, to make it more pleasant to look at. The time people spend coloring anything at all varies as well, if you just do a basic straight coloring it's of course going to take less time than you would if you're doing more detail on it to make it look more interesting, more realistic. This is supposed to be a tutorial as well so it's supposed to be reasonably slow and not rushed so that people actually understand what she's doing
I’m not sure where you’re hearing sarcasm, but I was definitely not being sarcastic in any way? I absolutely love this book and have colored more in it since filming this video last week. I’m not sure what I’d make a video just to be sarcastic or anyone would for that matter….I don’t color in books I don’t enjoy. I love every book Johanna Basford has ever released. Have a great day.
Don't let others discourage you! You are awesome and have taught me a lot. I don't usually leave comments, but the Lord inspired me to write this, then I saw the negative comment and knew why. God bless you. Thanks again
