A Shepherd's Year in the Cevennes, France

A typical year in the life of a shepherd in the Cévennes. From the seasonal transhumance to lambing, it's a nomadic life, especially for the sheep, living perfectly in tune with the passing seasons.
After 22 years of life in France, I continue to be fascinated by the traditional methods of sheep farming still practised by the shepherds here and I love sharing a little bit of their world with a wider audience. I live in the Cevennes, in the south of France with a shepherd, a horse and lots of dogs.

People think I’m crazy but this is what I dream of doing for a living. I have a small sheep flock now. If I could I would spend every day moving them to different ground. I just love this life style.
