Wonderful!!! You took me to my Childhood 🙂 Every Year I visit Bombay to meet my Thatha and Paati (Grandparents). I enjoy those train journeys. I was actually saying what all will be the next station names watching your video. And at last Ghatkopar, Bombay where I was born ❤️🙂. Thank you for the video Mani Vijay Sir 🙂🙏

I am very familiar to this Beautiful & Hard Working Loco of that time... I have travelled a lot in the 90s from my City Pune to Mumbai and back.... ThankYou Mani Sir... God Bless You Forever. ..
I have never been so excited watching a video. I was born and brought up in Dombivali. And I was so elated to see my city 26 years ago. I am sure I must have been up to some histrionics as my 10th board exam had just finished. My god thanks for these memories.

Absolutely mind blowing sir... Who could even think of creating such wonderful footage with soo much advancement now, which you have created in those days...!! Speechless... !!
Sir, during my childhood days in the 1990s, boarding trains from then Bombay VT introduced me to these DC giants as then BCT was about WCAM-1 & WDM-2. I remember traveling to Pune by Shatabdi with a matching cream n blue WCM loco. Indrani Exp in return journey with matching White, Red n blue WCM. This vlog was amazing as it dwarfed other trains from its window view. Bhor Ghat & Parsik tunnels were amazing & Howrah-Igatpuri line of AC locos joining at Kalyan was great. Loco's honking was cute while alerting jaywalkers on the tracks which is present till date. EMUs could be seen from Karjat onwards right till CR line of then Bombay area. Train didn't rush in the rain but journey was awesome! 😍😘🤗🙏
Thanks so much to take us to our childhood memories.. I only had memories of this engine when I use to go to my native from dadar station those two corner platforms and this engine use to be changed in igatpuri..from DC to AC and later when it vanished..i used to search this engine a lot at stations..thanks so much..
@@ManiVijay really you are blessed to capture this historic vintage ride. May u please post more of these stuff, which is really heart touching. God bless u

I always wished to see an ALCO-built WDM2 in action and finally my wish is granted!! @15:14 - Here is 18041, the second WDM2 to be built by ALCO for Indian Railways. This is indeed a treat to the eyes of an avid diesel lover like me.
@@ManiVijay sir many changes have come since 1995 new platform 1a and 1 has been built and the surroundings have changed from malls to tall skyscrapers
Indian railways have modernized in a massive manner. However, the thrill and the excitement has reduced massively from previous railway journey experiences that we have gathered...
We still have a long way to go , Ashwini Vaishnav is doing a great job but he has a task at hand in filling in some major gaps which exist since 75 years which was never addressed by any of the previous rail ministers for some reason or the other
It is very sad to see these locomotives scrapped. Central railways in Mumbai should have created a museum and preserved a model of each WCM loco for people to go back in time and enjoy these locos as they were running in their territory.
Oh God, Bhandup, Mulund, Ghatkopar, Kalyan, Diva, Dombivali all were looking backward villages on that time (1995), Look platforms and railway tracks were so much dirtiest, only row houses are observed not any sky line buildings but on these days (2020-22) all these places have hundreds of sky line buildings. Raiway platforms are cleaned and passengers are also modern.
I plan to upload my complete Panvel-Nagercoil trip via KR which I did in Dec 1999. But you can find short videos here - th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=GIM-NCJ+Mani
Mani Sir, mesmerizing to watch. My doubt is where is the locomotive parked in between the two journeys and is it the loco pilot who has to park it and bring it back for the return journey or any other designated personnel are there for that job.
Thanks a lot! Good question! These poles were designed for DC operations and follow the British model whereas the rest of India follows the French model. In fact, the first set of AC locos were all imported from France.
Ur vdos r more like a time machine taking me back to my childhood memories.

It is very sad to see these locomotives scrapped. Central railways in Mumbai should have created a museum and preserved a model of each WCM loco for people to go back in time and enjoy these locos as they were running in their territory.
This is the pain of progress, I guess. But they could have at least created a museum.
