I'm still on the fence to get this thing 🤷♂️ Thank you for explaining the rough running WHILE auto tuning VS just using the map they provide based on the air and exhaust
I did the autotune and my 48 run like shit y really got scarded about having done something wrong, two weeks ago, and for the last two weeks I didn’t have the chance to test it again I hope I can test it after finishing my auto tune session, in which I populated lots of 🟩!! So hopefully it will run great! Thanks to you I’ve realaxed because lots of people like you in your videos were telling than during the auto tune session the bikes goes like shit!! Well done nice videos lots of good information!!! Cheers
Good Video and review. Man the fall foliage up there is awesome. Great ride along I have been looking into getting a tuner I am definitely leaning towards the FP3.
Your water levels are low too. Nice review. The mating to the VIN is something the Harley one does too. I don't like that. I would go with the Power Commander. I took my power commander off when I sold my '99 Dyna and put it on my '06 dyna.
@@MotorcyclingwithCarl It "technically" did, but if you remove it they wouldn't know. At least back then they wouldn't know. The ECM did not record it then. Dynojet Power Commander link www.dynojet.com/power-commander/
Man that's some great scenery. So I've been considering the air cleaner and fuel pack, you say with the suggested map there was no running rough once applied? Was it only the auto tune that runs rough for a while? I dont feel like dealing with that haha.
No mine ran perfect with the map they provided for my setup. If you are going to get it and have more questions let me know and I will get my contact info to you.
MWC, I too have the FP3 on my 16 XL1200C. It does a very good job of tuning. I use the autotune also. I like your idea of two seasonal maps. Recently did a software update a few weeks ago and found that even in 70 degree weather the bike was now idling 200 rpms high at startup then coming down to normal (1000) after warmup. It hadn't been like this before so I am thinking the update created a choke mode. V&H makes excellent products however their communications leave alot to be desired. I've tried calling and they don't answer. Emails get no response. The FP3 has features that are not explained, some with good reason I'm sure. Wish they offered a high quality tutorial for beginners on their website, I think that would go along way for most users. Been thinking lately of doing the stage 2 cam. Have you considered this? I know the FP3 will tune for that too. Thanks for your great vids of New England , be safe!
I have not tried to contact them yet so I was not aware of the customer service issues. Like you said thats a little disappointing after they make such a awesome product. I have not considered stage 2 yet I currently am working on my project bike my 1992 Yamaha secaII 600 I am reliving my childhood that was my first brand new bike out of high school. I am sure I will consider stage 2 after I am done with that. I do have some front suspension and possibly rear suspension projects that are on my list for the Harley. Thanks for watching
Perhaps my contact issues are unique, or covid has altered how they work. I did find a pdf user manual download. That has been helpful. I don't expect to become a tuning expert, however you do that, but would like to use this to it's fullest.
So I’ve seen a bunch of videos on the FP3 but how is the seat of the pants power feel? Did it make a difference? Or does everyone put them in just because they put pipes air cleaners on? My bike has the stage 1 , so it has the flash from the dealer. I want to know will I find a big difference with the FP3?
Dude. I’m watching the review for this fuelpak and say… these are the roads I travel daily!!! That’s funny. So did you notice a difference once you installed fuel pak and breather ?
a little bit more power on acceleration.I really did not like the look of the stock breather and with that change I had to tune. Maybe I will see you riding out there!!!
@@MotorcyclingwithCarl cool. Yea I’m in Norwalk/ work in Wilton. I decided to spend my money on other parts rather then the fuelpak / breather right now
Nice 👍 you're review has made my decision for the FP3 even easier. Thanks Carl. BTW Tim Finning got things sorted out with V&H customer support. They dug into and tweaked his tune then sent it back to him for upload to his bike.
@@MotorcyclingwithCarl that's the debate I'm having now. Wait out the warranty or stage 1. Stage 1 will probably win. The bike is a 2020 Iron 1200 had 400 miles on it when I bought it. I might wait until after the first service (1000 mile).
That is about when I did mine. It doesn’t void the whole warranty just the engine I believe lol. My warranty just expired so I didn’t have any regrets.
I believe you would have to purchase a new one. But I believe vance and Hines stores at least you’re stock map on their servers so you would not loose that. not sure about autotune maps. It is a pretty durable sealed unit I found a nice secure spot for mine I show it in my install video. I am not worried at all personally. Hope my videos helped thanks a bunch for watching
I have a video on my channel installing it check it out. Thanks for watching hopefully you find that video helpful. Its awesome to have especially when you use gps.
Rokform I have a video on my channel also I had a discount code in the description I believe. Not sure if it’s still valid but give it a try if you buy something. Thanks for watching
Thanks I appreciate your honesty most people just hit the dislike and don’t have the balls to comment with it. My channel is just getting off the ground and I hope to get better in time.
Awesome channel man. I've watched several of your videos and found them helpful and informative. Keep rockin!
Thank you I should have some new videos coming out soon as my job slows down.
I have 3 Harley's. 2021 Street Glide, 2014 Dyna Wide Glide & 2009 Rocker C and i an happy with the Screamin Eagle tuner on all of them
My problem is all my computers are mac and screaming eagle only works with windows. Thanks for watching and commenting

Np I leave mine installed all the time once its set you don’t even remember it’s there.
Thanks for the update. Great ride and colors look like are peaking🍁🍂
It was a very nice day with great colors and scenery. Thanks for watching

Yeah it really runs bad during it. Especially if you are not expecting it. Good luck let me know how you do. Thanks for watching hopefully it helped.

Yes never take mine off. You then have tons of info on your phone at anytime. Thanks for watching. The colors on that ride we’re beautiful!!!!

Excellent review on the FP3 fuel pak brother 💯 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Great review mate. I'm going to do the auto tune next week. Thanks for the shout out too. Stay safe. 👍🇦🇺
Hopefully it gets you a couple of subs!! Thanks for watching

Honestly I find it mostly because of the exhaust but I did notice a little more giddy up on the throttle. Thanks for watching

Second question is I'm just running the normal air intake do I need to do something if I get an aftermarket air intake
I believe just tune it with the Fp3
How many miles did you ride to auto tune your bike and how many times did you map before you flash it ?? Thanks Stan
Not sure of miles but over an hour and all different rpm ranges tried to make as many cells green as I could between 2 sessions
Nice 👍 you're review has made my decision for the FP3 even easier. Thanks Carl. BTW Tim Finning got things sorted out with V&H customer support. They dug into and tweaked his tune then sent it back to him for upload to his bike.
Yeah they are pretty good if you need a tweek. It just sucks Harley voids the warranty. But it was a risk I was willing to take.

@@MotorcyclingwithCarl man I think I have over a year left on my warranty
I did mine at about 1000 miles. I risked it the way I wrote the last sentence may have been misleading. Spelling and sentences are not my specialty.
Good deal 👌
What if the fuel pack got broken or ruined by rain or something? Anyway to fix it?

Do I need to keep it plugged in after putting maps on it
No you do not
Is your phone charging?? If it is how did you set that up

what kind of phone mount is that?

Want some friendly advice? Do not do a review of a product by you just talking and riding a motorcycle. I automatically switch to the next video.

You are in the minority. Everyone has adhd these days and needs a riding video just to pay attention.
