You should’ve told those cops you don’t want to participate in their investigation. The one cop almost let you go, but you hesitated. Unless you’ve committed a crime, they don’t have to identify you. You can be “anonymous” on police report investigations, unless you committed a crime. In fact you committed no crime, so no ID should’ve been given. They would have let you go no doubt. If something was unconstitutional and unlawful, file a complaint and get with a lawyer to file a lawsuit…why sit and argue(and further chance more problems) when you can just voice your opinions on the matter but just comply(so you don’t get hurt or worse), lawyer up, and get paid.
I mean, I get wanting to “argue”/debate but don’t challenge a person that enforces THEIR interpretations of the very ideas you’re looking to challenge…you’re not going to sway 99.9% of them. Lawsuits and courtrooms tend to be a better lecture/lesson

My man, you gotta learn your rights if you're gonna put yourself in situations that may involve the police. First off, you never have to ID unless they can formulate "Reasonable Articulated Suspicion" of a crime that you're currently, previously or about to commit. Suspicion itself is not a crime, ask if suspicion is a felony or misdemeanor... That will shut them up. Tell them you don't answer questions, you have your 5th amendment right to not incriminate yourself or help with their investigation. Do not let them lie and say that they'll arrest you for "failure to ID". That is a secondary crime, they have to arrest you for an actual crime first. Obstruction is also another trick they'll use. Obstruction is a physical act or threat that impeads their investigation. There's a multitude of tricks and lies they use, educate yourself and your friends, and help fight against these tyrants and their long reign of oppression and abuse. Stay safe my guy.
Well no if I was a cop I’d articulate you’re under suspicion of a solicitation which is illegal in my state. It won’t stand up in court but the point is to force you to not comply when I articulate that so I can charge you with failure to provide ID. Failure to comply

Like none of the elements make sense together, some random guy walks up to you with a brand new tyre in a shopping cart and claims he got it off your car? Like how would you know who owned the car, how did you separate the tyre from the rim, why would you randomly take a tyre off a car in the first place?
First thing I would have seen is a New tire without the Rim, how would he had remove it? without me knowing, my car triggers my app on my phone if you get too close or touch my Tesla. Being videotape inside a store, is another sign of a prank.
