Tips for always catching wasps: always hold your bug net when shaking trees and always shake the front of the tree, or the part of the tree that your camera angle sees because this is the side that the nest will drop out of. When the nest drops, your character will react to it and turn towards the nest automatically, since there is nothing in the way of you and the wasps and the wasps stay in one spot for half a second before pursuing you, all you have to do is press A and it will catch the wasp 100% of the time if you do it right.

I was able to catch 14+ tarantulas in about 1 hour by just clearing out one of the non-friend islands at night time and scaring all the entities. What also helped is the island was flat. I think scaring the entities help with the spawn times of the tarantulas but idk.
Pro-Tip: If you hold your net in your hand when shaking trees from the front if a wasp nest drops and you spam the A button it will catch the wasp every time
It is so wholesome coming back and watching hear again almost a year later. I hope we get something big for a one year anniversary that may bring Austin back because damn do I miss these videos
I'm enjoying your playthrough. I also am not doing any time skipping, and one of my favorite parts is it gives me way more time to earn bells, miles, and collect. I'm enjoying just the chill part of fishing, collecting bugs, without putting much effort into it. Also, love the spreadsheet. It always makes me happy to see others make spreadsheets of their games.

I like to walk around with my net and shake all my trees first before taking an axe to them. A shaken tree will sometimes drop some bells or even a furniture item. If a wasp nest does drop down then I already have my net equipped and can catch them more easily.
Pro tip: I carry the diy island with me everywhere I go so I don’t have to run around to find it nor do I have to use up materials to make multiple ones and take up space on the island. If I run out of space in my bag I just drop it and come back to pick it up later
Yes, flowers are great for attracting insects. I got lucky and visited an island with flowers that are attracting peacock butterflies, at 2,500 bells each, those flowers are a cash cow with the butterflies they attract!
Hey the rusted part comes to the chest after helping Gulliver the day before. If you gather 30, you can build the "robot hero" which kinda looks like a transformer

AustinJohn if you get the tool ring and you encounter a wasp’s nest, open up the tool ring, and while you are selecting you’re tool the wasps won’t attack you, allowing you to switch to your net.
You can tap A multiple times when crafting and it will speed up the crafting. If havent already. Can use a flimsy or stone axe on trees also. Dont have to wait for the fruit to grow to get wood. Can still hit it with the axe and get wood. If the saplings are still small. You can shovel them out without needing fruit power up

Easy way to catch a wasp: Have your net equipped, be centered right on the tree (your back to the bottom of your screen) right after the nest drops from the tree your character will look in the direction of the wasps and make a face. You will be in the perfect position to get the wasps. All you have to do is hit the A button to use your net after your character is done making the face.
I'm right there with you on the date time skip. I did it once after getting finishing the setup for the shop opening and blathers appearing the following day all before noon. I haven't done it since considering it made the game feel meh. It's nice playing it each day like its meant to be played.
We tend to be bored easily because we exploit and spoil anything that may seem a little unpredictable so I for 1 will say "no" to time traveling. Good stuff AJ, another brilliant masterpiece.

Got a super hot tip for catching fish if people could like this, if you're on a nook miles island you can run at fish to make them swim off, when they do more fish spawn on the island, so all you have to do is scare off fish until a big one spawns then go for it! This works for every fish! The pier you fly in on counts as a pier so I got (like 10 sea bass) two blue marlin and an oarfish in 10 mins just by scaring off other fish and going for the big boys ! Probably works for all types of river/cliff/pier/sea fish if you just scare off unwanted types, great life hack

Hey Austin hope you read this comment because it might be extremely helpful and effective when paying your house loans and other things day by day the trick is to copy furniture and sell it as much as you want so you gotta put whatever item you want but I would recommend using you switch on a rotatable one by one table and have your other resident spin the table while you're main character pockets the switch, I hope you find this helpful
Pro-tip: In the critterpedia, the name shows a little owl icon infront of it to indicate you have donated it. It also says "donated" on the info page.

This works for every fish! The pier you fly in on counts as a pier so I got (like 10 sea bass) two blue marlin and an oarfish in 10 mins just by scaring off other fish and going for the big boys ! Probably works for all types of river/cliff/pier/sea fish if you just scare off unwanted types, great life hack

Hey Austin hope you read this comment because it might be extremely helpful and effective when paying your house loans and other things day by day the trick is to copy furniture and sell it as much as you want so you gotta put whatever item you want but I would recommend using you switch on a rotatable one by one table and have your other resident spin the table while you're main character pockets the switch, I hope you find this helpful
