Here in Ontario Canada Ty, we call these white perch/silver bass/silver perch but No Where Near the size of those?!! Holy cow! They Really monsters! The biggest I’ve caught here was close to 3 lbs! I sure wish we had biggins like that!! LOL. Love yer videos, keep em coming!! 😉👍🎣🐠🐟. Tight Lines!!
I have used livers on jigheads for whipers and big white perch in Pennsylvania for years. We kept catching them while targeting channel cats. I started using the jig head to speed up the presentation. Just so tough to keep liver on the hook.
You were in my hometown and I had no idea!? Dang it! I've caught wipers out there on chrome/blue back bleeding shad rattle traps. I yo-yo them on the retrieve. Dang good crappie and walleye fishing there, as well.
I just recently fished a private pond filled with wipers and couldn't catch one on lures. We got em on beef jerky, bread, bratwurst, and chicken breasts. Fun stuff!
I bring little chunks of raw bloody steak with when ice fishing for walleyes, it works as good or better than minnows or anything else I’ve ever tried. Throw a chunk on a little Swedish pimple or other jig like that and they seem to love it. Used that method at an ice fishing tournament once, nearly won a fish house but got bumped down one spot and ended up winning a microwave 🤣
Local lake was stocked with them about 25 years ago. Have heard of a few going 11 -12 pounds. Serious fighters. Lake was over populated with large schools of over-sized shad. Not enough black bass to control their numbers. Some folks fish for them using red worms on the bottom like fishing for catfish. I have also caught them on trotline baited with shad I seined for going after catfish. Their colors are amazing. They are the mule of the fish world. Hybrid vigor. They go on spawning runs but are sterile and cannot reproduce.
Striped bass out here in California at lake Silverwood tear up the chicken livers! I found that on accident fishing for cats one night, I was shocked!!!
Yes they are a cross between stripers and white bass. Generally yhey are spawned in hatcheries, dont think they usually occur naturally. They taste good, just like a white bass or a stripper.
That's how we catch them in Ohio. Their feed in the hatchery contains chicken blood for protein. They don't forget. Girl out at the lake got a 14+ a couple of days ago.
i dont know why you call it cheating if you catch the fish in the mouth its not cheating. id rather fish with live bait or chunks than throw lures all day.
@@JohnTaylor-v1x man anything you can do drunk isnt a sport. i placed in the bluefish tournament in the sound hammered and up for 2 days. lures dont mean shit you threw it right place right time
" fish in a barrel", big fun, hardest fighting fish in the country. Go Ty, CHICKEN LIVERS HaHa. Killer footage.
Fantastic TY brilliant footage
What a beautiful fish wow
Top notch pal 👍🏼🎣👊🏼
Hybrids are fun-Really close alternative to Redfish in taste. Cooking in the half shell, it’s hard to tell🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Love the underwater footage! Few fish pull like wipers. They are just so strong.
It it so nice to see them underneath the water. Cool.
I'll bet those fish are thinking winner, winner chicken liver dinner. 😊
Loved the under water footage! Those were some healthy hybrids.
❤
The electronics set up on that boat is crazy 🤪 glad you two had a blast! Great video!

Do more of these types of videos please
What fishing lures you guys using?
TY that was crazy bro
Hi TY are those any good to eat?
Stripers are white flaky meat from saltwater. Whipers are hybrids of white bass and fresh water stripers?
They are great out of cooler water. Take the red meat off and you have a good meal.

Would b awesome on flyrod
Imma try this

Yeah I don’t see it as cheating but I think he says it just so he don’t start a war in the comments😂
It's cheating. Bass fishing is a sport. Catch em on jigs

We used chicken liver more than 30 yrs ago to catch them in Texas, better than shad
could get a bunch with a cast net
28 1/4 inches almost 13 lbs is the wiper to beat
I catch five of those beasts and i need elbow surgery.
Try a chicken liver fly 😅
That’s the problem with chicken liver as bait… the moment you cast it flies off the hook where ever the hell it wants to go… 🤬🤬🤬😅
@@ArmchairDeityif you can get fresh liver thats hasnt been frozen it is a lot tougher.
Lets go fishing with a camera
How's it cheating?
Thanks for the underwater shots. But liver looks so disgusting. Like a rotting corps.
