Springfield Massachusetts is my hometown I was raised in forest Park then moved to memorial square when I was 1 and then I moved to Norwich Connecticut when I was 8 now I'm moving back im in Holyoke right now
Who remembers B'Shar's Restaurant & Kips Bar on Main St. Kips was across where Medina's Store is, and B'Shar's was on the corner near The Medical Building are today, the 3300 - 3500 block. Anyone remember the Rexall Drug Store too. Or Elsie's Cafe nearby with the package store?
I was born in Springfield lived in West Springfield across the big E and then moved to Ludlow off of East Street then back to Springfield my entire life but lived in Queens NY. I’ve always said that Springfield is Manhattan, West Springfield is queens, Holyoke is the Bronx 😹
Because he usually goes in cold freezing weather n early morning....he not going for the people he going for the housing n area as a whole... big difference ....plus how would it look for suspicious guy traveling cross country in "ghettos" holding a camera,? It would draw attention, get him killed if people think he is a snitch or cop or trying to film them do illegal activities like sell drugs or doing murders etc etc etc.....
I'm from Holyoke I got a Metal band I'm trying to get working on my bass skills ain't there yet I'm learning downtown is ghetto North end of springfield is ghetto more than Holyoke I'm trying to create Thrash Metal in Holyoke to be known in the western mass metal scene which is dominated by Killswitch engage wannabes and metalcore kids
The houses shown in the first minute of this video are quite attractive, and suggest a middle/upper middle class neighborhood developed in the late 19th century. These older neighborhoods already possess the qualities sought in New Urbanism developments: densely populated, walkable neighborhoods that are close to local commercial areas. With adequate financing these restored neighborhoods can be made attractive to a diverse middle class, a much needed population in New England’s older industrial communities.
I know how bad Springfield is when it comes to crime. I'm lucky that I live near the Five College area with Downtown Northampton and Amherst being a Mini Boston/Cambridge.
Their should be a more meaningful / value driven follow up video. The North End is not just any poverty stricken neighborhood. Plus, the North End is actually just one part of three section that make it up as a whole Brightwood (half families below poverty line, and working class Puerto Rican’s (the boogie PR the “Im not like those PR)). Libery Heights (the Ricans that wanted to move out the ghetto by moving up the hill where white working families lived) and memorial square were their are more businesses then housing. Further more Mr. Neighborhood Guy...as yourself this why? Socio Economics my guy...🤯
@@neighborhoodguy thanks for the content your channel is so underrated you already hit all da hoods in da east coast....where u from? And stay safe out there bro god bless🙏🏽🙌🏽
In all fairness that really didn't represent Springfield to well. There has been other videos people have done & shown that were better showing greater area and a lot more of the city. All you managed to show was a small area in the North End between Calhoun St., Main St., Hooker St., The Old Bus Co., Across from Christopher's Package Store., And a few side streets. Could have been better. I grew up down in that area in between 1968-88. A lot of good & fun times.

I grew up in the riverview projects in the north end in the 1970s. That was the ghetto.
Best decision I ever made was to move to California.

Would chicopee be brooklyn? And east long meadow would be Staten Island
I feel Springfield would be more of like Brooklyn but yeah I kinda agree with that lol Holyoke is deff the Bronx of 413
@@higuy9083 chicopee I could see being Brooklyn tbh
I think of Turners Falls as a Mini Greenfield.
I lived for a year in this end of Springfield half of it squatting in an abandoned house over the winter with no heat.
I was born in Northampton and raised in Easthampton. I think Northampton is a Mini Cambridge.
I wonder why theres never anyone walking on the street in these? I mean I get it, Its cold outside but still.
Early morning
Don’t wanna get kaught
