I don't know too much about blues but I think I do get what you're saying. I teach Bachata but I prefer the Dominican Style, the root.. it's more because I learned from dominicans. I think people sometimes get carried away with performance and forget the real deal... but you are right, respect to all the dancers.. they are all great...
omg, thank you. I was like, "gosh, these women remind me of Lindy dance instructors... this isn't like the blues dances I attend." I actually don't Lindy Hop anymore, I only blues dance... I prefer blues because of its aesthetic and its intimacy, but the level of intimacy here actually reminds me more of Lindy than blues, even though this is obviously sexier.
Oh, I'd love to see allskate dancing from another angle where all three couples are visible through the whole dance... Hate to hear the crowd screaming and not be able to see beyond the border of the youtube window. :)
I love and respect all the dancers in this video. However, this is a blues comp. Except for Jeramie & Evita, who demo quite a bit of drag blues, it really lacks the blues feel/aesthetic and often feels just like improv slow lindy/bal/groove (hello, slow swivels and quick spins wiht direction changes) with no fixed footwork plus some jazz movements. It would have been better called "strictly slow dancing."
Oh my this was so flaming hot!!! Love it! Amazing guys!!!
Muito show
