All the people complaining about Salyer (68), he's not the starting Guard. Je definitely needs to improve, and I'm sure the coaches are on it.
But unless you've watched every snap he took this game, it's a bit unfair to judge him solely on a few cheery picked plays that are meant to highlight Alt.
68Jamaree Salyer had his head up his you know what. He needs to be benched. He has no idea what he's doing. He's better as a swing tackle.
Just needs to get in the playbook and more reps
Give him a little time. He will be a better Guard with some time. He's certainly got more potential than Pipkens at this point.

need to draft a 1st round guard (generational type) next season and bring in another good guard +center, so chargers can really run the ball

You can hide mediocre guards if you have great tackles and a great center. The chargers would be better off going after a mid tier guard in free agency this year, taking a center in the top 2 rounds, then using the one more pick on a young TE and filling more holes on the defense. If the chargers want to sustain success, they have to be able to draft replacement players for all the young guys they won’t be able to pay when their contracts are up

@@auikoukekoa7143 Yessah, our offense was running vanilla plays second half though. We weren’t running the actual offense, saving it for games where we need it. At least I hope so.

Alt completely ignores him and keeps pushing him down the field.

i kinda dont blame pipkens it took him 4 years to become a DECENT left tackle (LIKE FINALLY) just to get moved inside this dude has a learning curve of a 3rd grader its gonna take him some time before he becomes decent or good again
Slayer did great at LT when slater went down like 2 years ago. But he looks so lost at rhe Guard position

77 is the left gaurd zion johnson which is been ok bit more on par for a backup gaurd hasnt lived up to his first round billing we need beet gaurds and a future center I think they didnt take any other lineman the last draft to get a good look at what theynhad on the roster bit they know bow we need better gaurds and a future center but actually pipkins has been pretty good as right gaurd but not for his price if they keep him he needs yo take less money cus he is playing on tackle money if he takes like 2-5 million a season he is worth keeping as the right gaurd he is playing gaurd better than zion buy also shows how important having good to great tackle play taking joe alt was the right choice cus if not herbert would have zero time in the pocket

that last play was so frustrating to watch seeing how the entire interior of the line all failed, we had the center and rg content dancing with one defender and our lg getting beat so bad and so fast that slater was physically unable to pick up the inside stunt and since bozeman was in lala land he didnt even see the stunt coming around to help out.. all of the interior leading to our qb getting hit.. and theres just joe being stalwart

The play design on the line of scrimmage sack early on is just pathetic. Every route is covered and QJ does a terrible job of getting the defensive back out of his stance and turn his hips.

@@jonathanstevens8753 That was the game both he and Slater got hurt in. Usually a sign that one is pushing the boundaries too hard. Hightower and Watt were everywhere. They did a good job of protecting Herbo, but the cost was pretty high.
Salyer looked liked shit in this game like every rep he takes the wrong guy wasnt fluid looked stiff was trying to double team on every play if he played halfway competent this game we would if had over 30 points easy makes you appreciate how good pipkins has been at right gaurd salyer looked like he was trying to play tackle from the gaurd position all game just realky weird he shouldnt look that lost playing right gaurd hopefully pipkins can play cus salyer was really bad at gaurd he is a hood backup tackle but gaurd he was horrible took the wrong guy every damn snap they need to get him playing better than that if he is playing or use sam mustipher or somthing
