Though Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna was a superhit song when it was released, but I think it's very underrated song of Sonu sir. People talk about Saathiyan, Kal Ho Na Ho, Abhi Mujh Me Kahin, Deewana etc etc... But they forget to mention this masterpiece. It's still one of my favorite songs from him since my childhood.
For me Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna was on another level than those songs. And btw Tum Hi Dekhona is quite hit song.. In fact whenever people think about the movie, people think of that song with SRK - Rani chemistry but the title track is almost forgotten.
I like how everyone gave here decent performances but as you perfectly said for live singing and I agree with that for starting & singing with spot on pitch there is no comparison of any of these singers with Sonu. Even in one interview , I heard Shreya when she was asked to tell about good qualities of singing with her co-singers throughout her career. About Sonu, with smile she told how can you pick up so spot on every single time you sing live effortlessly even with dancing your pitch never goes off. Nice video.

I don't know much technically but sunne me it was ok ok.. maybe that variations a d nasal tone didn't suit the song..
Atif aslam is nice in this song Waise overall dekhe leaving this song then of course the crown is of arijit singh For this particalur songs and video atif aslam and shaan are suitable. Rather than that sonu nigam can't be replaced. These 3 singers have magical voice for me these are my fav :- 1) Sonu nigam 2) Atif aslam 3) Arijit Singh 👑
