    Once I heard you say you were in Colorado, I was hooked. The soil here is so iron rich that this detector is always going off. At my parents ranch up in the mountains, it's even worse. I can drop a magnet and it comes up covered with bits of iron and iron rich rock.
    Thank you for this video, very illuminating.

    I've had mine for about 2 years now. Where I hunt seems to have lots of iron "bits" in the ground. Have tried the A1 and A2 but it about drives me nuts with all of the chatter. After watching this I will have to try it out again and just deal with it. I never realized how much more depth I could get. Thanks for posting this. No matter how much you learn about this hobby there is always much more to learn.

    If you already own this detector and are considering upgrading. Before spending 500+ on the upgrade, look at CORS Strike coil for this machine. I added one to mine for about 150.00 and absolutely love the performance. I have gained a lot of depth. I found a small caliber round ball that my stock coil missed.

    A very good review Hunter. About 1 year ago I won a Vibra-Tector 740 on youtube. the rivers in eastern NC are too murky to see in, not clear at all. I was able to trade it even for a Delta 4000 in a pawn shop a few days ago and I love it. Your video has helped me a lot. Thank you!!

    Thank you for the response. I have been metal detecting for over 35 years and now I am starting to understand the differences in frequencies and how the detectors actually work. The detectors with multiple frequency adjustments cost more and worth more if you are a serious detectorist. I just like to go out for the exercise and the thrill of finding something. It amazes me that you can search over and over on the same area on different days and still find things. Wow, I better quit now or I will use up all the words in the English language LOL. I always wanted a detector since I was a kid but could not afford one. Now I have a TR (these are cool but tricky to use)..found a three cent piece ON EDGE (1875????? someone lost it after I showed them ....how convenient) on an old carnival ground at about 2 to 3 inches with the Compass 94B Yukon. Also in my armory is a Tesoro Compadre (unbelievable for the price) but has a fixed sensitivity and a frequency of 12 kHz and a Garrett GTAx 400 (freq is 7 kHz)...that is a nice detector. There is no end how much you can learn from this hobby!!!

    Old video i know, but i've found something interesting to note about the delta 4000. Recently i purchased a used but like new delta 4000. It is an early model manufactured around 2009, this machine does not have the A1 or A2 modes. I cycled through the menu for an hour trying to access A1 or A2 before finally realizing that this detector simply does not have those functions. I've looked all over the net trying to find information about these early deltas but nothing in detail is really out there. I am disappointed that this machine has no A1 and A2 functions, but, obviously teknetics did not offer this on the earlier machines

    Nice machine. That has awesome recovery time. I am not sure which way to go when I outgrow my Bounty Hunter. But I will definitely be looking in your direction when it is time for a detector. (soon I will be asking about pinpointers. I am tired of the crap I have been using and don't particularly care for the Garrett. )

    Thanks for another great review, I love the performance of these First Texas products. I really like how the key tones vary when adjusting the volume on the Delta 4000, something not found on my ETP.

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have noticed that some brands/models don't adjust the volume in real time while in the menu. Only after you make the selection and hear the ID tone is it adjusted. Should be standard for sure. Thanks for the support Bob!

    Any opinion on Tesoro? I have a used one that seems to work well and noticed the Compadre on Amazon for $162 and lots of 5 star reviews and comments about it finding good coins, etc. That more expensive detectors missed. Also, Tesoro gives lifetime warranty and mailed me a new battery compartment free of charge even though mine is old and bought used for S80. Great customer service

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tesoro has recently gone out of business. They fired all the production employees (some of which went on forums and vented in anger). Other than that....I think they are good machines. I'd like to get my hands on a nice Vaquero.

      TheHunterGT If you ever want to come to Germany and detect some things (very nice things to find here), here is a tip: First come to Bavaria. It's the only part of Germany where the state doesn't take your things away when they have a very big worth. If you find something that is worth a lot of money on another guys property and the owner can't be found, you get 50% of the worth and the owner gets 50%. Its better to ask before you start, too. It's better to ask the local farmers or property owners if you are allowed to search on their fields or in their forests, almost everyone says yes. Because there are some people that will get mad if you do it without permission of the owner. Good luck and have fun ;)

      Depends...early Delta had push-in....later had screw in. Ask the seller what version it has if not listed.

    Is it possible to replace the Delta standard coil with a Bountyhunter 11DD coil ? And not lose any benefit from the 11DD coil?

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, as long as it is off a 7.7khz machine and has the same coil adapter type (push-in or screw-in).

      @@thehuntergt Tnx! What's youre opinion by the way on the Bountyhunter Titanium Camo? I can get one for 150 Euro. I now use my trusted Eurotek Pro and love the machine. Real American made quality it works verry well. Is the Titanium Camo a better machine reading some reasonably well reviews aboutit? I will always keep my tek pro and probably be my primary machine for a while but need a good backup. I love youre video's by the way! Greetings from the Netherlands!

      @@renedevries4582 Thank for the kind words! It is a good machine...but would be a step sideways and not upwards. As a backup, I would say yes...as it is very similar to your ETP and runs the same 7.7khz. I would not consider it an upgrade however.

    I need help. Please write how the A1 mode differs from the A2 mode. I don't know English. If you write to me, I can translate in Google Translator.

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A1 has more default sensitivity, about an inch more on a coin-sized object, but
      will sound off over more highly mineralized ground.
      A2 is more tolerant of ground conditions, but will be less sensitive over less mineralized ground. The two modes also have different audio characteristics.
      A2 will provide better target separation, as the sound covers a “tighter” area as
      you cross over a target.

      All the modes should hit a white gold ring as long as no notches are set.

    I am thinking about getting one of these and so it happened that I found a place via the Internet called Warrior Dwarfs that's selling it for $133 w/free shipping! Does anyone know if this Dwarf's outfit is legitimate? (Supposedly they're based in Colorado.) I'd call them but they're not open at this hour. I'm an old geezer at 64 and so I'd like something light and not too expensive or complicated so I can check out some areas here around Reno, Nevada. I also saw a youtube video a little bit ago of the Minuteman detector by Teknetics and wonder which of these two detectors would be best for my needs as both have gotten high praise by folks that own them. I thank you for your time and comments, if any.:-)

    • @thehuntergt

      I lived in Colorado 18 years and never heard of that company. It does not sound legit at all. I personally prefer the Minuteman over the Delta based on recovery speed and trash work.

      @@thehuntergt Thanks for the reply! After I posted here I tried contacting them but had no luck getting through with the (phony?) phone number and the email form I filled out to ask some questions fired back that it wasn't working. Grrr. Thus, I decided they were probably bogus and so I ordered a Delta 4000 from Walmart and will have it in a few days. I probably should have gotten the Minuteman but, if I'm not mistaken, the fellow I talked to at Teknetics (right before I ordered from Walmart) said that machine has a steeper learning curve than the D4000 (though he might have been talking about the Patriot, as I was very tired at the time...). I'm looking forward to getting the machine and at least get some fresh air and exercise even if I don't end up finding the mother of all gold nuggets like I'd like to.:-)
