Congrats on the DW endorsement , happy drumming
Congrats Christal! What an honor to get such an endorsement! You deserve it! 🙌🏻
I look forward to hearing many awesome jams on that kit!
Also, you are a better vlogger than you give yourself credit! And I rather enjoyed the little humming accompaniment throughout the setup (humming is better than talking to yourself, which is a habit I can’t shake)
Also I kinda liked the unnecessarily high mounted cymbal. Reminds me of the drummer from Grand Funk with a cowbell mounted much too high. Lol
Many thanks Dave! I never realized how much I did the humming thing until I filmed this. Now I'm super aware of it, ahaha. I talk to myself too! Though when you're vlogging I suppose you can pass it off as talking to the camera so it's not weird at all... and now I want to have a high mounted cowbell too, just for the sake of it.
DWs are super nice, I use Yamaha, but I really dig DW & Tama too. 7x13 is my favorite snare size! I have a maple one and I’ll be getting a brass one next month! Congrats on the beautiful kit!
Awesome! They've all got great kits and unique sounds. And wow what a coincidence, not too many play 13s! I'm sure you'll enjoy that new snare soon enough 😀
~Another great video ... And Congrats on the DW hook up!
Congratulations!
Congrats. 👊
Ayyyy you got a direct drive double pedal....so death metal songs coming out lol 😜🤘🏼
I’ve had some amazing DW kits, stoked for you! And the mirror finish is wild!
Beautiful kit, congratulations and so well deserved! I think you will really like the 20" diameter. I've been playing with 2 20's for almost 20 years now.
I'm sure you did this, for the double braced stand that is holding the two rack toms, one leg of the tripod should be straight in-between the toms so it's as stable as possible. I don't know how heavy the DW toms are but on my Pearl Wood/Fiberglass kit the drums along with the Opti-mounts weigh a ton.
Thanks aplenty! It'll take a bit of getting used to but the smaller kick suits my space a lot better already. And oh yes, I mentioned that for the cymbals but not the toms, but definitely. These are amazingly more balanced than I'd have thought they would be, which is a nice bonus!
Nice. Congratulations I can see the smile on your face. Also if you will please tell me the camera you are using. Thank you.
So I’m new to your channel, thanks for the video by the way!
Your thoughts on triple flange hoops from die cast that came with my Tama starclassic? My
Previous kit was sonor AQ1 which I liked a lot but came with triple flange hoops , I love the new walnut/birch kit I have now with what seems to be better hardware with the die cast hoops 22:11
Hey James, thanks and welcome aboard!! Hmm I'd say that hoops are only one part for what makes a drum, so it really up to your own experience whether you like the feel or not. Technically I went from die cast on my old Tama to triple flange on the DW but they feel inherently different enough that it barely makes a difference to me - that said, they probably make more of a noticable difference on snares, but not enough for me to go out changing all my snare hoops (I'm not a heavy rimshotter!)
How much is your DW Drum set and what size your DW Bass Drum?
What Camera did you use for this Video? Your voice is very clear. Any wireless mic? Or pick up by the cam mic? Thanks for the reply. More power
Sony a7c. Audio was recorded separately - it's using a Rode shotgun mic at some parts, and a lapel mic at others!
20" Kick?
im sad for the orange one😘
Staniel
Wow just wow bittersweet huh I dig the whole thing what not to like :D
Good to see y'all Tama give away coming up jk
Beautiful Set!!! Congratulations on the DW sponsorship! Well deserved!!!! Those pesky Drum Keys always engage ninja mode during setup!!! Beautiful tom tones per usual, but the snare!!! ohhhh weeee that's some POP!!!
Thanks so much Al! 😁🙌🏼
