I'm still twitching with excitement and relief that we got the job done in the end! Better performance on Saturday at difficult Coventry and we're in it to win it!

3 massive points, 2nd place in table, ER still a fortress, outstanding goal from Dan James. A great penality from Summerville and a Sam Byram goal, a huge relief to get the win in the end. We are certainly missing Gruev, Gnonto and Roberts, wishing them a very speedy recovery as we need them with our push for promotion. Alaw MOT

Absolutely Karen, hopefully the Injured lads are back sooner rather than later as we will really need them for the run in!

Having Gruev, Gnonto and Roberts missing shows on the pitch: Last year at the same time in was Adams, Wober and Gnonto whose injuries intensified our implosion. I don't know how long we can keep pushing our luck for. It seemed yesterday that we won by willpower at the end, which is what Ipswich are doing too. Ipswich were lucky against Blackburn and second best for much of the game against Southampton, who blew their chances yesterday. Hull are a good side and took 4 points off Leicester this year and Ipswich still have to play them.

Like Watford, Hull played us well for most of the game, pressing and closing down outlet opportunities, passing around our own with good movement, but they didn't really create that many chances - only 2 on target to our 6.
That's two games running where we've struggled to get out of our own half for the most part and worries me a little that sides might have 'worked us out' as appeared to happen under Bielsa.
Gruev's absence was huge for us. He's been the surprise of the season for me and we didn't have anyone disrupting them in midfield. He can't come back quick enough really.
It's still 3 points though and we must trust in Farke as he's done a phenomenal job since early season. MOT ALAW

Nobody worked us out under Bielsa. Bielsa was always one step ahead of the opposition when he had the resources. I'd like to see Farke switch it up and use Bielsa's 4-1-4-1 formation. I think Ampadu would have been better in midfield because he's more of a holding player when the other two are box to box.

@@clivet3252 We were pulled all over the place by the man-marking and far post crosses from our left seemed sadly effective. Don't get me wrong, I think Bielsa would have kept us up, but I agree that investment was needed then just as it will be if we go up.
I would have liked an Ampadu/Gray MF tonight but that would mean being light in defence, just as we were against Watford.

@@Chewiebakke no one pulled us all over the place at this level and we went toe to toe with Man City and Liverpool and looked on a par with them so it's not as though the system never worked. All systems are exposed when players don't play well. It's just when negative systems are exposed you don't usually concede as many goals. It's about priorities. Farke obviously felt Ampadu was needed in midfield without Gruev against Watford, but he changed his mind based on two goals conceded.

    We missed Gruev

We did. He took a while to get going but we see how important he is for us now. The problem is the others are more box to box. I wish Farke would mix it up a bit more and play Bielsa's 4-1-4-1 system. I thought Ampadu should have gone into midfield because he's more of a holding player. Farke doesn't really have the strength of his convictions like Bielsa. He broke up Rodon and Ampadu because he felt we needed Ampadu in midfield, but then went back to them because we conceded two goals. Bielsa would have stuck with Ampadu in midfield because it was the best option technically.
