Oh that was soo cool. I did this with my family many years (35) ago. You captured a great experience in time. And I know your understand engine sizes. Flashbacks to when I was a dad to my kids. Very cool thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching and for leaving a comment. We really want to get back out for another launch. Still trying to find a good spot in our new town of Huntsville, AL. Ironic since this is the "Rocket City". :)
@@thevetdad6383 In Northern Georgia it's also very difficult to find a decent field. Trees are the curse mostly. My only reliable field is disappearing quickly. In fact, on my last launch the rocket landed in the walls of an under construction Publix. They cleared enough trees to build a shopping center and that is what allowed flying to take place but the buildings are getting too big! It seems that about 1000' is the number where rockets begin to drift far enough to need some real space. In rocketry, it seems that the trend is that one will want "bigger and higher"! Good luck finding a field or, look for a local club. They may have a field.
@@thevetdad6383 Check out my field here...It may seems like a lot of room but I have lost three there, two in a small pond and one that drifted into a fenced warehouse area. Wind direction is critical. Get a small rocket to be a wind dummy. Send it up first with a B6-4 to see where it drifts. It can save your bigger ones. I'm like you, I flew them as a kid and got back launching in my 50's! th-cam.com/video/M-RrfkjIEvY/w-d-xo.html
thanks Vet Dad! We loved watching. we just bought this for Christmas and are about to build and launch. Thanks for your service, brother! (My son, John, wants to say something: "which one is better, the HI jinks or the Rascal?")
You`re an Awesome Father! I would`ve Subscribed for that alone but I also like Rockets, Create content and you have an interesting video :-) Cooper might one day be an astronaut leading a crewed Mission to the Moon.
Sorry it took so long to respond to this but thank you so much for watching and especially for the kind words. We need to do some more Rocket content soon!
My brother has one of these rockets, but its been sitting in his closet for a year, he found it and passed it on to me and now I have no clue if it has any missing parts.
I was gonna buy this for the kid for christmas then I just realized for 30 bucks I can get some nice sized roman candles. He wont notice the difference lol

So much fun! Love the slow motion footage. 🥰
No losses with ponds and trees nearby - good day!
It was so hard to find a space large enough to launch. It's going to be even worse when we start using larger rockets!

Thanks so much for that advice! The kids (and I lol) really love doing this so I am definitely going to look for a club nearby!
