I think the fact that he is able to avoid these sacks, is the reason why he holds on to the ball so long. He thinks that he can get away from the sack every play. But he's a rookie. He's going to have to learn. And after the beating he took this year. If he doesn't get it next year that says something to me about him. As always I love the channel, keep up the fantastic work!

I don't want to pretend to be an expert, as I am NOT an expert. However, I have believed that the problem with so many sacks experienced by the Bears, one can point to both Caleb Williams and the offensive line. I would also like to add play calling as a sack-generating culprit. And Caleb is showing himself to be a true leader with the statement he made at the beginning of this video. Note to Swift - excellent video; well done!

A good OC calling good plays would help so much

Coverage is also a huge reason for sacks. When our route tree isn't complex enough it's tough for our guys to get open resulting in getting pressured

It’s human nature look for someone or ONE entity to blame when multiple parties are at fault. The Oline played better than any year since Poles arrived but it still wasn’t good. They couldn’t stay healthy which of course never helps since Oline continuity is one of the most vital assets to an offensive line.
    I respect the honesty Swifty

      Agreed.
PFF ranked Bears OL 14th overall in 2023 and similarly at around 12th this year

We also live in a society where honesty and character doesn't matter liked it used to. Caleb being straight up about this season gets my support. Thank God he wasn't seriously injured this season.

The first part of your comment says it all.... Low standards in society and the pussification of man. In my opinion, this Empire fell in 2010.... Also one side of politics....you know which one dominating every facet of society...media, education, Hollywood, etc has created cultism.

Two stats that worried me regarding Caleb’s sack rate in 2024:
Williams led the League in sacks, when the OL actually recorded a pass blocking win
CW also led the NFL in sacks taken on dropbacks or plays that lasted 4 or more seconds
Both of these stats aren’t necessarily on the OL or coaches

From what I have seen on other sites, the OL was ranked 24th. Also noted plenty of teams have a need to upgrade their OL giving the Bears plenty of competition for FA linemen. The draft will be the key. We will have to bring Amagadje around and settle on a position. We can get a Guard in the draft. The Center spot is going to be the hardest to fill. As for Caleb, he is a rookie. Expect him to improve a bunch.

We need 2 offensive linemen out of the first 3 picks at a minimum. More talent. Better coaching.

YEAH ! MORE HELP FOR THE OFFENSE . I'VE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG " MORE BODY GUARDS SO THAT CALEB CAN COMPLETE THE MISSION WHETHER IT'S THE RUNNING BACKS OR DOWN RANGE WITH THE WIDE RECEIVERS , AND IF THE PIGSKIN ENDS UP IN THE TURFF
THAT'S JUST SHOWS HE ( CALEB ) DOESN'T WANT TO LOOSE YARDAGE , AND YEAH THROWING THE PIGSKIN OUT OF BOUNDS WORKS JUST AS WELL . WITH THESE TWO MOVES HE AIN'T GOING TO LOOSE THE YARDAGE , AND LESS SACKS THAN THE OTHER Q.B.s. IN THE LEAGUE LOOKS GOOD TOO . AT
LEAST HE DIDN'T COME OUT POINT THE FINGER AT HIS OFFENSIVE BALLERS . HE'S A GREAT KID , BUT IF SOMEON CAN GET HIM MORE USEFUL BODY GUARDS THAT WOULD BE OUTSTANDING SWIFTY YOU FEEL BRO ? I KNOW THAT THERE'S STILL SOME NON BELIEVERS SAYING WELL HE MESSED UP AGAIN , AND I BELIEVE THAT AIN'T RIGHT ! " REMEMBER FOLKS HE'S STILL A ROOK ! BEAR DOWN ! " SWIFTY IN DA HOUSE "

Braxton Jones ranked 17th for LT and Wright ranked 5th among RT. Media believes o-line is the number 1 need and it’s not true. We need DT, DE, then RG and Center. Then depth at o-line and safety. Knowledge over narrative

Starting with little to nothing make this look worst than it is. So it's still a rebuild & adding talent. 2025 draft has to be impact year going forward & it be 2026 before we show playoff team that's ready to command control that increase winning every game! Sad thing is how many good drafts will it really take? GO BEARS AND BEAR DOWN 🐻 ❤❤❤

You know Josh. I think you are the best at analytics, commentary and a mature voice of reason. But I just can't understand when you want to make a commentary on why he got sacked so much, where the heck is the all 22 video? Your charts don't make it like showing us on film each play to make your points. Guys like Chase Daniel always uses all 22. Every coach on every team looks at all of it. Is it too expensive? To difficult to work with? Licensing issues. Even the "PAAANNNCAKE GUY" goes over all significant plays with all 22. Okay. I said my piece.

Gotta learn to play together. Caleb needs to learn how to get rid of the ball and establish a rhythm and the line needs to improve and hold their blocks longer. Each player needs to focus on his job and become better every day.

We need the right OC and QB coach to educate our rookie that this level of ball will not forgive superman every time. He will learn that tight windows have to be exploited or throw the damn ball away with a receiver in the vicinity to avoid the flag. That said we need to pay for the dirt huggers.

I definitely think they have to upgrade the o line....but if abdul carter is there when we pick...or even if we have to trade up a couple spots id like to see that. I like both OTs in this yrs class but abdul is the best pass rusher ive seen in a while. Hes the best player hands down in the class. I think you can find starters at center and gaurd rd 2 3 or 4.

Everyone sees CW holds the ball too long. Nuts it's only long relative to the OL ability to make a clean pocket. I watch other QBs l, Like Donald, Goff, Baker stand in the pocket of 4,5 even 6 sacks. CW has to avoid lineman as soon as the ball is snapped. Darnell Wright is the only lineman who would start on any other NFL team.

    Hey, Swifty!!! 🐻🐻🐻🐻⬇⬇⬇⬇
We had a rookie QB and a mostly hurt O-line this season.
That's the question I want to have an answer for: does the O-line ACTUALLY suck (OR) were they just unable to develop a stable front, due to injuries?
We have the off-season to work on that.
Let us not see these issues by game 4 or 5 of the next season.

  • @Learn-SapereVedere

How can you say anything positive about this O-line? Lucky Williams has guts because any normal person would be broke after being absolutely freaking hammered all year. Over 60 sacks is bad enough - the kind of hits he was taking were just obnoxious. The O-line was next level bad - even for us. Hey there were some bright spots in a tough season - but excusing this kind of o-line play and saying Williams was a big part of it is crazy. There aren’t 5QBs in the league that would have had a decent season behind that O-line…there were injuries - but they were next level bad and I don’t know how you can deny that.
I don’t normally disagree with your takes - but this one’s a stretch - the O-line was so bad…every game - run game - pass game - home - away - terrible from the opening of every quarter to the end.

King Poles built an excellent line....last in the league in sacks. Nearly every aspect of being a fan of this team is to do all of the mental gymnastics necessary to arrive at the conclusion that , "it's not that bad". It's The last 40 years of Bears history in a nutshell... A history of being losers

  • @niveKOnBass
    @niveKOnBass 11 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

No he's not making it look worse. It was just as bad with Justin Fields. I would say maybe 20% of his sacks were his fault. His blind side is weak. If you watch his habits, he doesn't trust his blind side.
From center to LT we need replacements.

Alright, here's my hot 🔥 take that nobody will agree with. 😅
Ready? 95% of Caleb's sacks are on him. Period.
    Allow me to explain...😅
Except for the clear and obvious instances when the DL immediately breaks through the OL and is in Caleb's face (2 secs or less from the snap of the ball) every sack is on him.
By 3 secs he needs to get rid of the ball. I know this is a simple draconian take. I know what you will say and I know all the counter arguments, and you are correct.
But at the end of the day, he has to get rid of the ball.
"But the OL is...." I know, you're right, but he still needs to get rid of the ball.
"Nobody is open..." I know, you're right, but he still needs to get rid of the ball.
"But the play call was terrible..." I know, but...
    Ect, ect, etc...
Just so we're clear, I think Caleb is good and could become great. In those close games this year, Caleb was CLUTCH. He actually thrived in those situations. I think he's a special player.
Alright, ignore me, hate me, or whatever but that's my opinion. He needs to play better despite the OL, and I think he will.
He needs to adapt, improvise and overcome.
Look at me 😅 talking like I know something, like I know how to play quarterback. I'm just a fool die hard Bears fan!
BTW, Swift Sports Network is one of the rare Bears source that keeps it all in perspective, unlike the click bait media.
